ive got a 2007 tacoma....is the 4x4 switch supposed to be illuminated when the headlights are on? i took the switch off the dash and there is what appears to be part of the bulb assembly (the brown twist in plug) but no bulb.

I don't think it's illuminated. You have to do the 4X4 illuminated switch mod.

Nope... I first wanted it when I had my 2005... and was disappointed it wasn't one of the upgrades when I got my 2010. It would be nice to see it on a dark night when you want to switch it quickly should you hit a slippery section of road. Of course the 2010 has VSC.

The illuminated switch mod is so worth it! Just look at it as Toyota's way of saving you money on payments. Next, they won't install cabin air filters. :)eek: That's what they did with the 05s!) Okay, maybe they'll skimp on the rear leaf springs and just leave a leaf out. No one will notice. :)eek: Wait! They're doing that on the U.S. models!).

    :D
