In all seriousness, at least IMO, it all depends. Sometimes, the limiting factor is the driver, sometimes it's the vehicle. Too many variables in the real world to have a text book answer for every situation. Hell even the temp. could change how a truck handles certain terrain.

I would have liked a TRD offroad just because of what it is and what it can do, but since most of what I actually wanted was on the sr5 and since I have never been offroading (on purpose anyway) and since standard four wheel has gotten me everywhere I've ever needed to go in any weather including upstate NY winters that it would be foolish for me to spend the extra on the alloy wheels since I will never do any serious offroading. Besides the yellow wire TRAC hack for 4 wheel low gets me 85% of the way there and 100% more capabilitie than I will ever need (hopefully) .

well ive had a few questions my self I have a 2011 double cab 4x4 sr5 speedway blue non trd non sport ..I don't wheel but I honeslty don't see why it wouldn't perform as well as my past Toyotas had a 84 sr5 4runner 22r 4cly 5 speed 4x4 could not get it stuck I swear it was amphibious ive had water to the top of the doors mud..and hald worn buck shots great ride,98 I think it was ,regular Michelin tires went anywhere I told it to ,a 93 v6 5 speed 4 runner sr5 loaded now my 2011 I mean non of my others had lockers,a-trac,blahhh ive been anywhere I wanted to go granted im not into rock crawling but I hunt, fish, and get into some nasty spots when I want to take a Sunday drive but my experience with Toyota no matter what you have it will last, and it will go anywhere a jeep or a locked,un locked truck will go ,granted all that extra is good insurance but ive never had it or been where I needed it I guess
