    Not for the majority I have seen in ditches on the side of the road in the snow by drivers who feel invincible. And no people were saying the OP NEEDS a 4WD. He doesn't. Everyone who lives in Tahoe does not own a 4WD.

    you are correct, he doesn't need a 4WD, and I'm sure you have seen many drivers in ditches and some of them were 4WD, I don't doubt that, those are probably the drivers that do feel invincible but OP knows what he is talking about and wants TW's opinion on which option will help him not be one of those people in the ditches.... which 4WD helps
