Well this is my 01 Yota Prerunner. Locking rear diff, V6, just run of the mill truck. I wanted a 4x4 but I got a deal on this one. It was a grandpa truck with 55K so i couldn't pass it up.

Step 1 was a 3in lift. I did Billies all the way around

Then I got bit by the wheel bug and had to get some Pro Comps to go with the Terra Grapplers

After a lil saving and some help from people good at geometry we made a box to hold two Pioneer 6 1/2 speakers and a 10 JL. And to top that off I got a Dual in-dash

After getting stuck a few times in wet grass lol I ditched the Nittos and got some Kumho KL71's. Other than it being a directional tread, it has by far been my favorite tire! They did great on wet/dry road, ice, and would let the 2wd go a lil further than it used to.

Yeah, they were great. I am running the Goodyear Duratrac 33x12.50R15 now and they are doing pretty good... just dont look as mean as the Kumho KL71's

After gettin stuck a few times and catching immortal hell from friends about having a nice lift 2wd truck with a expensive set of mud terrains, I started looking for parts to do a 4x4 conversion. i had to search for a while but I ended up with

    1) front differential, spindles, etc... from a 98 Tacoma with manual hubs
    2) 340F transmission/transfer case/shifters from a 97 4Runner (had some issues, to be discussed later)
    3) a center console from toyota
    4) shortened rear drive shaft and locate a front shaft

This was tough and took a lot of searching, but with the help of a few buddies keeping an eye out for me it all started coming together. I had around $1500 in the conversion between parts and installation. I got the truck for 11K, 4x4's the same year/mileage were selling for 16-18K at the time, so I would say I came out to the good on that one. Plus with have manual transfer case and manual hubs I dont have to worry about things not working when I need them most.
