the title jsut about says everything, when i'm starting from a standstill, or extremely slow, between 5 and 10 mph i get a vibration, it happens very consistantly when turning, but sometimes when i'm just going straight. it seems like it's coming from the back of the truck.
the only thing that i could come up with is that the rear diff doesn't like the synthetic i put in it about a month ago, but i thought it would cause more of a sound than a bad vibration.
it doesn't happen at any other speeds, just accelerating form a stop. any thoughts?

yeah, expires january 2010. i'm going to try to find time to bring it to the dealer this week, but would like to try to figure out what's wrong and potentially fix it before it comes to that.

could something have happened to the clutch:confused:

when you are first getting cruising, have your hand on your shifter.... tell us if you feel a bad shake at the shifter... if so, you may have just blown a tranny mount.

depends how badly blown it is. if it even is that... i now that happened to my tranny when i blew the mount and it was worse during turns yes... but it also lasted past the 10mph mark.

ok, so i took it to the dealer, and after testing it/inspecting it/ and takeing things apart and putting them togeather for about 2 hours, i was told that the vibration i was feeling was from a combination of:
1)the horsepower increasing mods i have done
    &
2)the synthetic rear diff oil i put in

they said that the better oil is giving the truck much more traction in the rear end, but that the extra hp is trying to break the inside tire free on turns.

needles to say, i'm happy now. for those two positive outcomes of mods on my truck, i can deal with the vibration.

he said that with some better tires it would most likely go away

i read your profile of what you listed as "hp mods" None will make your truck vibrate from whereI can see

    Fellas,

I am dealing with the same issue as Mr. ColinB17. I did the 30,000 mile tune-up by the book about a month ago and used Synthetic Mobile l and LSD additive in the rear diff (2006, V6, 4x4, TRD Crew Cab; thanks Chris4x4 and Dgerm-- great write-ups/ how-to's). I traded out fluids in the transfer case, oil change, cabin filter, etc. No performance mods other than a K&N stock filter replacement. I feel the vibration in turns under acceleration till the 10-15 mph mark (no vibration while coasting through a turn or in straight line acceleration). The problem seems to have made itself a little worse over the past few days/week. Thoughts? Please get back to me.

    Thanks,
    jjones67

i haven't done anything about the issue since i got it, and so far i can't see any harm that's been done. the dealer told me that the synthetic oil in the lsd is causing it to grip more than stock, making it almost feel like turning in 4 wheel drive. they said that it will not harm anything like the gears, trans, driveshaft, or engine, and that if i see anything wearing faster than normal, it would be the tread on the rear tires from the "hopping", but even that will be just about impossible to see. so far, they are correct.

Call me crazy but I just really find it hard to believe that changing the oil to synthetic in the rear diff and xfer case would manage to create THAT much of a difference... enough to cause that kind of vibration (maybe I'm an idiot). I hope that the Toyota dealer was upfront with you. At this point I'll just wait and see what happens. Anybody else have any opinions or ideas? Colinb17 keep me posted on your truck. I would like to know if you start to feel anything different (vibration wise) or if it turns out something needs fixin'.

will do. i changed to synthetic about 5 months ago, and if anything, it's vibrating less now. maybe that's just what happens as the oil gets used...but more likely, i'm just getting used to it. but i'll keep you posted if anything changes.
