Schnebly takes you to I-17 and just a ways north on 17 you can turn off to Mormon Lake. Or take the highways from Sedona to Flag and back south.

Ah! So nothing from that Scnebly/I-17 intersection straight East to Mormon Lake, eh? Highway is still quickest? There needs to be a Google Maps of offroading. lol (Thank you, btw!)

Well to be more accurate.. I know there is a Mormon Lake road a bit north of Schebly on I-17... I don't think there is one right at Schebly.

Schnebly isn't off road... It's a murderous washboarded dirt road of hell... Granted a very scenic one

Those pics are amazing! Am stayng in Sedona until Wednesday, so may try that trail. Possible to do solo?

 I did Schnebly once in my Wrangler, which, you probably know, can make a flat straight surface bumpy and miserable as hell. I'll try the route to Mormon Lake once, but it might just be highway every other time.

Very possible solo, but just keep in mind it's a weekend so you might have to backup in a few places for pink jeep and rental jeep traffic. I didn't use my locker, a-trac, or anything special out there.. just go really slow on the stairsteps (or you will test out your armor or if you have a stock hitch you might hit that) and hug the black marks of previous trail goers. There are sections that are one-way so get a map before you head out there.

Actually it's all multi direction, they just prefer you don't go up the stair case because it slows everyone down (namely, pink jeeps). They put arrows up, but they don't actually own the trail lol.

Kate and I had an awesome time on Broken Arrow. Thanks to everyone who came out, and thanks to Patrick for coming even though he had to hitch a ride.

Broken arrow was a blast. I hit the tow hook and the trail hitch a few times.

This morning we also took Schnebly Hill to I 17 Then took dirt thru Mounds Park to Overland Expo. We only stayed at the Expo for a few hours before heading home. I will get pcs up ASAP.

Also AVOID Schnebly unless you really want to see the over look. The road is basically crap The Pink Jeeps have warn away all the dirt so its just sharp rock out cropping everywhere.

I think the dirt trail from the 17 to Mormon Lake starts behind either Mountainaire or Munds Park ( I cant remember)... its an old Railroad grade.
