File a claim, I would bet the tranny is bad or will soon be. Transmission clutches dont like water , in fact they absorb it and swell.

Do you guys really think insurance will cover this? I mean Ive never been in a scenario like this, but Ive heard of them turning down more reasonable claims than this...

Seems like trying a new ECU wouldnt be that hard. Worst case OP can turn around and sell it again.

So, what is the worst the Insurance would do? Reject the claim. So. Then you go with your plan.

That link is awesome, depending on how this claim goes, i meet tomorrow with the adjuster ill keep that in mind. Obviously there are a lot of variables but after talking with him earlier he sounded as if there wasnt an issue with the claim it would most likely be totaled. Depending on what they say its worth will make a difference. I could either refuse or potentially buy back the truck. Either way ill need more info from the insurance guy.

subbed one from @planters15 was totaled once they realized how much it would cost to mess with all the ECU and wiring damage. A nightmare, plus the wires and pins get corroded so you will be chasing gremlins forever. Get rid of it. There's a reason why flooded vehicles get the title they do.

Filing is definitely the way to go. You would be hunting electrical gremlins forever.

Did this happen during the torrential downpour of Sept 10th?
