Hey guys new tacoma owner here, Wanted to get your thoughts on what i should do to my truck. I wanted to either level it or lift it. I haven't found any levels except for daystar (doesn't seem like its a true 1.5 in level) or fabtech spindles.

235 75 15 tires will get you 1" of real ground clearance.

I chose not to mess with the suspension at all, and just maintain the truck well. No reason for me to try to make the truck look like something it's not.

If i were to go with 235/75 15 would i have to worry about any rubbing? I think the guy at the tire shop said i could bolt on 215/75 15 no problem

Also I want to keep a stock looking feel , like you said no reason to make the truck look like something its not. I wanted to keep the stock wheels on.

I run 235s stock no issues. Moog 81070 coils will give u 1 inch lift in the front (v6 5 lug coils( can combine with the daystar for another additional inchish, can use the spindle too with it all

My 2nd gen came with 215 stock. The 1" gained was over that. If you have something smaller than that now, you'll gain more.

Hopefully some 1st gen folks will chime in regarding fitment/rubbing.

On my 2nd gen there was no issue, although the shop didn't believe me when I told them it's gonna be ok. :D

You can go either way with this, up or down. Lift it be happy or full build long travel n cage n all. Leave it stock height or slam it just depends what you want to do.

I've had 2 5 lugs n should of left it at stock ride height n built the motor up n turbo. I lifted my first 5 lug n wanted more so I went LT with the 1 have now. Im happy with it but the little 2.4 struggles to push bigger tires and not many options available for long travel kits. If I did it again I'd just get a prerunner, better platform to build off.

@mjbtaco has a really nice turbo 5 lug

That looks like my 2004. They drive nice for a compact truck. Back in 2004 I drove the Tacoma, Ranger, Colorado and Frontier -- I picked the Tacoma. I wouldn't want to screw that up so I will resist the urge to lower mine 3 inches. What I have in mind is some 16 inch wheels with a metallic gray finish to match the bumper blades and grill surround. Something with an offset close to the stock 15 inch wheels. Likely some P215/65R16 tires, so a +1 change, no change in overall tire height. I'll add a nice soft tonneau cover (trifold likely) and call it a ride. You gotta do what suits you, but I find it fun to hear others ideas.
