    Anyone w/ a 5 Lug 4cyl install 245/70/17s with NO Lift or Spacers on a 5 Lug 4Cyl?

I just got back from local auto shop w/ my 2" front spacers to be installed and was told the 2" inch front spacers are not needed and that I'd be able to install 245/70/17s w/ no lift needed and that it wouldn't rub the wheel well / black box.

Anyone have any intel on this? I have decided on the 245/70/17s (both the wheels and tires) but want to be sure on the 2" lift (do I really need this). Appreciate any insight from anyone with experience and or firsthand knowledge. TIA

I am interested in this also as I will be in the market for wheels and tires soon. I was looking at 235/75/16, but would be nice to go a little bigger. I don't plan on lifting but will do the black box mod if required since it is easy to do.

    Hey
I know its been a while but I figured I would answer

    I am running 245/75/17
I find it extremely hard to believe that they won't rub w/ out a lift.
the diameter is much larger than the factory set up

Another thing to think about is the gearing
Some say that it would not "need" to be changed....
but it makes a significant difference on the way the truck drives.
I ended up replacing the 3rd member on my truck
and it made a huge difference on how the truck feels

Here is what that looks like in front of the factory wheel

The picture above is w/ a Pro Comp lift kit n with a new 3rd member, w/ 3.73 Gears n LSD

    I hope that helps :)

I just recently put 245/70r17, had to do the black box delete mod. 17x8" wheels with 0 offset. Minor rubbing on the inside of one wheel well. I'm considering the leveling spacers but I don't think they are "necessary"
