I moved my positive wires to a bus to clean up the battery terminal. What's funny is I needed to get more 2/0 as the 2 gauge wire I had would barely turn over the starter. Then again when I was originally building the engine I thought something was wrong because it wouldn't turn over with sparkplugs. Turns out I had to double up on the jumper cables lol

I also had a rubber bushing disappear on my shift linkage and since I could not find a replacement to save my life, I decided to replace it.

I'm also looking into a possible brake caliper upgrade using the stock rotors, pads and brackets along with a is300 caliper. This would allow me to go from a single piston to a double. The goal it to first get new pads, rotors and lines and then do some test to see how much of a difference it really makes. Here's a couple of teasers

Also in the meantime I'm hesitant to take it off road because I've touched so much but I think the time is coming really soon. Also I still need to take more videos lol

Are the is300 calipers direct bolt in? Or do they require a spacer for the mounting bolt?

They will require a spacer for the bolt and the pads. Luckily it is a straight shot so no offsetting

Would love a step by step guide with cost information. I've never done anything as far as motor swaps or major major work like that.

    1. Aquire engine
    2. Prep engine
    3. Yoink old Engine out
    4. Drop new engine in
    5. Plum new engine
    6. Connect engine harness to body harness
    7. Cry
    8. Fix random things

Something like that lol. Here's some more important questions.

You an auto or a manual?

Do you have access to a welder or someone who does?

    Are you good with wiring?

Do you have a space to do it?

It definitely was alot of work and I had to rebuy/remake some things as it was a learning process. I will say the more you do the cheaper it is but you have to trust yourself and your work lol

I sorely want to do this to my taco with a 5.7... my tundra hurts some feelings, so I can only imagine what the Tacoma would do with the same engine.

The 5.7 is a bigger engine but I know there's a few of those swaps out there. The 1uz non vvti 4L rips pretty good and with the low compression non interface pistons it'll be ready for some boost one day.

I can imagine. I want to get the supercharger kit for my tundra, which Would be hilariously overkill for the Tacoma if it had that combination.

I really want to do something like a m112 or m122 with meth.

The problem is with the 4 cyl turbo or the v8 I have no traction under power when it's wet out. My butt is too light and I have a Toyota elocker so normal open diff.

No welding access but my friends can weld although I don't trust their work haha.

I do have one friend who can do these things but he costs an arm and a leg.

No space to do this at home and definitely no time. I will be paying someone to do this if I pull the trigger.

    I'm an auto btw
