Regardless, I will pay you pretty much whatever you want if you can successfully make me a set of the long travel UCA's and LCA's

Soooo I finally painted the truck. I went with monstaliner with the color midnight special and then did a clear coat of the same liner with a mix of indigo and midnight blue metal flake. Here's a picture dump lol

How much of the liner did you end up using? Curious if it was gallons, kits, etc? can you shed some light?

I used 2 gallons of tinted for color and 1/2 gallon of tinted but with no color for my sparkle coat. I also used 1/2 gallon of their epoxy primer for my primer

Soooooo I moved out of Florida and am about 40 mins from Windrock. Which means it was time to build a new skidplate and get out there and send it.

    20221217_150107.jpg

Didn't get a picture of it fully assembled because I finished late the night before the trip lol. It uses angle iron and 2" square tubing for the main structure and a sheet of hdpe for the actual skid ($41 a big sheet of 1/4 hdpe from grainger)

    20230120_110337.jpg

Go pro didn't charge so I didn't get any action shots but I sent it hard up a blue trail and did pretty well. I would say I was able to do about 90% of it as a 2wd with a locker and the other 10% I was pulled through.

Plan on going out again soon just need to fix a few small things and add some wheel well liners because there was alot of mud where the sun don't shine. The next plan it to hit as many of the green trails as possible

It's been good especially in the cooler weather. I forgot to mention I rewired my trans a bit and now it's sequential shifted. Put the shifter into D and use then use the push pull shifter. Could have done paddles but where the fun in that lol

Also at Windrock I finally hit the Rev limiter and boy oh boy does it sound good in the mountains.

I'll ask for everyone else who's gonna think it. Video of that gorgeous sound! Bummer about the gopro, but now you have an excuse to go to Mexico and show it off :D

That shifter setup is pretty sweet, what are you using for a controller that lets you sequentially shift it?

Is the skid on the rear? Need to see finished pics. I also just noticed you have a 6 lug rear and 5 lug front... that seems fun.

It's for the front. I cut and moved my front crossmember up alot so I needed to redo the skid frame. I'll post some more photos once I bolt it back up. At some point I'll make a gas tank skid tank as well.

Yeahhhh 6 lug trd elocker axle in the rear with 2016 leafs in a soa set up.

Ahhh yeah it would. I think the 2nd gen 5 lugs are a little slept on. You want to slam it, you can. You want to solid axle swap, you can with less stuff to cut out. Also 5 lugs don't usually get marked up like the other Tacomas do.

I have a 99’ which would be a good candidate for about anything lol. Just waiting on the motor to blow. At this point it may not ever lol. 362k and I drive it about 100 miles a day.
