Basically I have some questions because I would love to lift my truck with ether fat bobs or ready lifts kits. They are in my price range and I can afford with some nice tire upgrades since I have been saving from work. My tires at the moment are starting to become bald or on the verge of being there. I have many questions so I will just list them below and I am grateful for the feedback.

-Gas milage/ how bad is it with the lift and bigger tires because I am getting 23 average atm stock

-Handling worse?/how is the handling with the lift and tire upgrade

    - anything to know I have little knowledge about doing anything with cars or trucks

    - second should I just get a Quad to off road and keep it stock/ have done a little back road with it and handles nicely stock but the suspension feels a little weak

I love my truck and it only has about 22k miles will this lift negativity hurt my truck or just has milage.

-how do I rehear it what shop do I go to

-were do I get tires for my truck or shop

-who can setup my lift kit and put the new tires on and re gear
Thank you for the help and I will post pictures of my truck soon it's a little single cap baby

-Gas mileage changes, but I personally can't notice a huge difference.
-My handling didn't change much at all, just a little stiffer and bouncier in the front.
-make sure you have money to do an alignment because that is needed with the lift.
-good idea on the quad, buuuut do the truck as well;) haha I have a dirtbike and my truck and they are both awesome to have.
-Re-gear isn't too necessary, I'm running 31 inch tires on 16 inch wheels and my speedometer is only off by about 4mph and I haven't noticed too much of a power difference.
-I like Evans tire, and Discount tire, I got a good deal on my for 50 a piece because I work at Toyota so I lucked out on that.
-A lot of people do their lifts themselves, I did mine at work with power tools and did it in about 2-3 hours including alignment.

Gone over the Top for a 5-lug..
This is dependant on how much 'bigger' the tires are. I run 16x7's with 225/75R16's. 26.9" vs 29.3". I lose 2-3mpg in town with needing to rev it out a bit to make power off the start in flowing traffic, but gain it back on the highway, with 5th gear becoming a higher over-drive.

The tires/rims were bought in a similar situation to your's .. found a set on kijiji (your ebay classifieds) local for a good deal, and went modding from there - my attention was suddenly drawn to the fact that my stock tires were pooched at 64,000km, and i was really pushing my luck to take them further.

I am holding off from upsizing further, given my use of the truck - and being unsure whether i want to invest in regearing the truck when i do put larger tires on it (235/85R16 or 245/75R16), should it require a regear. Gas economy and acceleration performance with the stock 3.31 5sp final drive, starts suffering at this point of a tire up-size, unless you re-gear.

Readylift with Biltstein 5100's in the rear, 4600 struts in front. Handling is 101% improved. Much reduced body-roll in spirited cornering. My truck laughs at speed-bumps. It now handles much more like a truck, rather than like a butchered Corolla that someone took a Sawzall to, from the B-pillars rearward.

My 2010 serves duty as an occasional ATV hauler.. one of the main reasons why the suspension upgrade was done. Hard to enjoy hauling the toys, when the toy-hauler is being crushed down and overwhelmed by a load. I also have a 1500lb trailer that i needed to equip the truck for - part of a tow-package install is making sure that the suspension is up to the task - the stock 5-lug Tacoma most definitely wasn't. I don't believe the level/lift setups are intended for anything resembling serious off-roading beyond a cratered fire-road - you need to go further to long travel setups, or you'll be bending stock suspension members and other miscellaneous components.

Otherwise, my Tacoma is 95% commuter .. with lots of speed-bumps between home and w*rk :)

Accelerated brake wear with larger tires, possible shortened wheel bearing replacement intervals. Possible decreased life-span of clutch, if manual, dependant on how you adapt to the acceleration/shifting changes from that which you have already been habituated to.

Steps necessary for re-gearing depends on whether you have the auto or manual transmission. Final drive on the manual is an oddball 3.31 and requires a complete 3rd member replacement (big $$), while the 3.58 final drive on the auto will accept a simple regearing in the existing 3rd member.

I've used the services of 4wheelparts for most of my upgrade parts and labor, to date. I have a shop local to me.

Regularcabjordin122 pretty much nailed it, but I can add a little to it.

    - Offroading is doable with the 5-lug (I've tested that out;)) But you should definitely have a buddy with a 4x4 handy when you get stuck, because you will get stuck, haha
    - A realignment is a must when you put on the lift, or else it will be in a funk.
    - You can get tires online or at stores like Walmart, Costco, Sears, and some other shops.
    - Before you find a shop to install the lift, post on the Tacomaworld thread where your location is. For instance, I live in Northern VA, and there is a thread on the forums where all the users from the area post. I posted on the thread and asked anyone if they can help me lift it and someone installed it, with the reallignment, for a real cheap price. Also make sure they know what they're doing, haha.

    Best of luck, man!
