    Such a bad ass engine, and running my future brand ECU.

    So when are you turning up that booooooooost?!?!?! You'll need it to counter the weight of that new cage. :D

    Trying to keep this truck light, but add weight where needed. So far I think this cage added 200-250 lbs to the truck. Looks like I'm going to eat up about 120' of tube.

    Haltech Platinum Sport 1000 is my wet dream. I was thinking of adding more boost after the cage. Go for a good solid 15 as a goal. That might yield close to 300whp. I'll need to log KR first or just spray some meth. I need to take a break after this cage to enjoy driving it again first before going balls out again.

    Well, the time has come to drop the cage. Trying to cut out the front window with the harbor freight remover tool sucks. Let's see how this goes. Didn't think I was going to get this far yesterday. Nice it's not over 100 this weekend.

    Lol, yeah the door springs don't work. It's actually nice when actually driving the truck cuz the doors like to shut naturally. Once in the race seat you don't want to get out.


    Man I'm toasted. Didn't think I'd get this far. Cage is already back up in its place. A and b legs are tached back in place. Next weekend I'll weld the cage to the frame and start on the dash. Trying to get a sprint to get a new front window. Knowing my luck it's going to rain. Oh yeah cutting out the windshield sucks. Never doing that again, but didn't have to pay a window guy 160 to pull my cracked window and come back a month later.

    Any idea the rough amount of money saved, by doing the fab work yourself?

    Looks like your cage is made to Rally Cross standards! :thumbsup: (Or Trophy Truck)

    I think a cab cage goes for $5k depending on how much you want done. This will be pretty close to something you can race with. If I keep the truck under 4500lbs and add a few more tubes where I'm going to skip, might be good to race. For a play truck it should get me by.

    My truck stock was 2800 lbs they pack on the lbs quick the more you feed them. Curious if I can keep it under 4000. I'll need to weight after this.

    I am now curious how much it weighs. Did you weigh it after you did the rear tubing? I do not remember.

    Never weighed the truck. I'd like to know or see if my guess is close. Feels very light on dirt. The heavier trucks can definitely go faster than me as I tend to bounce around.

    Seems like that would be more in valve adjustment to me respective to weight. Seen plenty of dune buggies and bugs suck up the whoops, and they are quite a bit lighter.

    A buggy is a different beast than a truck. They have their motors mounted mid to rear. Helps to have the weight shifted towards the rear and the front lighter. The motors on the race trucks are right next to your legs.
