I though the same thing, and then I landed on a 2500 Gmc so I could tow my play rig... :bananadead:

These tacos cost so much more than just parts when it breaks hahaha

Commuter car FTW. Truck is really loud in the cab. Only drive my truck once a week now. Plus this thing gets crazy attention now. Gets weird having people stare at you all the time. Turns a lot of eyes now. Think this truck is about 17mpg now. Could probably get about 1 mpg back if I do a few more pulls to clean up part throttle stuff.

Long travel problems, honestly I'm considering messing around with some other car dreams of mine thatre less expensive before I become dedicated to going long travel... Especially since my truck is going to be my DD for a while
17 mpg, shoot that's probably what I'm getting right now, how're you pulling that off

The truck is loud in the cab. Motor mounts vibe pretty well through the cage. 4 cyl sure buzz loud. The engine is pretty quiet being 2.5" straight pipe. I love "race truck", just can't drive it on street much.
My car is very quiet and comfortable.

I probably drive a lot slower than you on street. I hear stories that you drive like a mad man. On street I probably only go 5mph over.

    Lol. :burnrubber:

Why no muffler? You know how crazy struct Cali is. No need to draw that extra attention.

Doesn't need a muffler. That turbo really makes this truck quiet. When I boost and the wastegate pops open, then that is different. I'm louder NA with an 18" magnaflow.

So the noise then is only due to engine vibrations?

Engine vibration and suspension moving resonates inside the cab. It's not too bad. After a few hours in the truck it will get to you. Going to take ear plugs to the desert when I'm off road.

At least the v6 is a lot more friendly on the vibes.

I still remember that. Thinking to myself, man this has to be enough. Feels like the truck is done once you button that back in place.

Yeah I cut the dash at the same time as fitting in that bar. That front area is very complicated the more "street" friendly you try to keep it.

In other new what was suppose to be truck prep for a dez trip, turned into truck being stuck on jack stands.

The resi hose sprung a bubble and leak. Too close to the exhaust for my comfort if it popped. Trying to loosen the hose that goes into the resi cap requires custom fab clamps made from wood to not scratch the outside of the cap. Had to torch the threads because king uses Teflon thread sealant. Pretty scary how hard you need to crank that vise shut. The wood actually dents into the o ring groove. 15 yr old hoses.

Coil over won't come out of the bottom. The bolt bent. Much of came a bit loose. Going to need a full day to cut that bolt out. Out to the desert tomorrow to take a break from this.
