Its a support bar idk why they put it on it but it doesn’t allow you to use a body lift which doesn’t really matter to me cause im not gunna body lift. And idk the length off the top my head but i can get you the part number when i get home but i would say its like another 1-2” longer then the fabtech ones

My Fabtech uca don't have the bars. Do they get in the way of the cross shaft bolts?

Any idea how to tell driver from passenger without the labels? I have the fabtech ones also, and just realized I don't know which side is which.

Supposedly the Fabtech and Doetsch tech arms were bending, leading to a modification of the design. I am not seeing how it would affect a body lift, because you raise the body away from the arms.

No they unbolt. You have to remove that brace before installing the uca. And idk how it effect a body lift, instructions just say you cant use it with one. And idk but i can put my doetsch ones on top of each other and see if there is any difference

Finally got that call from Bilstein... yay! Two more weeks... :( The truck is now my daily-driver again, so I might have to wait until I can get my car back on the road before diving in to the truck's front suspension. I want to have as much time to figure out the hard problems without being rushed, so it could sit on jack stands for a week or two like last time.

4.10 rear has got me at least 10-15 mph over... hard to say since I haven't gotten around to using gps or happened upon a radar sign.
It's actually triggering the 108 mph speed limiter when I am going 85-95 on the highway. Before the swap things were much worse, however, as my rear axle was leaking at the seals and the larger tires were harder to push at higher speeds compounding the issue. It would accelerate to 80 cruising in 4th, but if you punched it for more power the truck would just groan at you when the auto downshifted to 3rd gear and you would maybe get up to 90 mph. It feels like a whole new truck honestly. I can punch it on the freeway and pass unattentive hemis now... lol

Well... rear axles are good now and radiator replaced as well, so I almost said "No problems now!" But there's always something with an older truck isn't there?

We had talked about it in PM, but my front hub seals are leaking grease from the hub. I repacked and replaced the bearings as well as the hub seals when I did the spindle lift. I have never gotten my truck aligned since starting to lift, so I am thinking it has to do with that. I still have all my shims between the cross shaft and coil buckets contributing to a great degree of negative camber. Also, the tie rods were never adjusted, so steering and toe is way off. I think this is causing the hub to ride unevenly on the spindle or putting enough stress on the new hub seals to cause them to sling grease all over my rotors, but that's the best theory I have at this point. I also thought maybe getting the Autozone S-runner seals was a bad idea. The oem's were all metal exterior, the new ones were rubber exterior (metal underneath).

Also, all my ball joints had been replaced shortly before starting my lift, so they were in good shape. I have ruined the boots though from all the times I dismantled the suspension, so they have evacuated grease and need new boots or need replacing as well.

I plan on trying to solve these problems when I dig into the front suspension again. For now, I am eating through front tires, rotating them as much as possible, and wiping the grease off my rotors when it builds up too much. Now I feel bad calling this my daily driver...

Yeah, i remember now. well that good, at least the engine wont leave you stranded now. Ive gotta adjust the toe on my truck as well after messing with those control arms. its actually really simple and you can do it with a jack and a 14mm wrench. I think it may just be the srunner hubs, ive just got the stock 97 5 lug hubs. i cant imagine much difference between them but i didnt engineer em so i cant really say. when you repack the bearing, is it running dry?

It will eventually. I am not sure how dry it is at this point. The last time I looked at it, grease was depleted about 25%, so I repacked.

It's just the hub seals that were designated as s-runner. I did not replace the hubs themselves. They are cheap enough to replace next time around to find out.

I thought about doing this and just "eyeballing it". I am sure I could get it much closer to spec than it is currently (lol... its pretty bad) I have also looked into those gauges and wheel mounts to do it accurately in your driveway, but haven't decided that I really need it yet considering the cost. It's also a tedious job when done right... much easier just to drop it off at the shop for a day. I was just hoping to get my lift settled and all the grease leaks figured out before then.

Left side may have either evacuated all the way or stopped all together, but probably the first one.

Its really easy, just jack up the front wheels, and start adjusting. the front should be 1/8" closer than the rear of tires

I feel like this thread needs to get sticky in the 5lug section for future reference

Okay, going to revive this thread again. I finally got around to working on the front lift and have some long awaited details for everyone. I have to run an errand, but I'll be back in an hour so with pics and stuff. How's everyone's 5-luggers doing?
