You can but they are kinda hard to position on our trucks.
You need the one that goes down the center

I've used those. They get wedged under the coil bucket or on the lca n had to beat them out with a sledge. They are real sketchy the way they bend and flex. Definitely not safe but they get the job done... Sort of

Lol these pos compressors are better for pressing in bearings and cups w/o heat and cold. So do these five luggers have to have the spring compressed to get the shocks in, if so they have longer shocks in comparison to the 6 lugs, I can just jack the chassis up and they slide in like they are buttered.

Gotcha, aye you think you guys would be interested if I could make the Toyota tool? I could make it just as good for probably 1/5 the price or less if I started a group buy.

I actually didnt have any luck with any spring compressor i used a 6 foot pry bar and wedged it in with the top of the spring seated in the coil bucket. Ill post pics, i was trying to make a little tutorial to help anyone else but theres no way i couldve held a camera while doing any of the hard stuff.

P.S. The internal compressor doest fit into out LCAs so its useless.

This kit is pretty nice, it did require some trimming for the Tabs that hold the bracing bar and i had to trim a bold that held the upper ball joint. I have a 5vz (make sure to specify your engine when ordering) and its never felt so solid and responsive. It eats bumps like theyre not even there and now i stay pretty flat under heavy braking. 10/10 recommend.

I also found out that the accelerated wear on my tires was due to the cheap spacer lift i had. I'm tempted to combine it with my new coils for more lift but i dont want to ruin the alignment and the ride quality

Late to the party but... I used the same one you got from the auto parts store and quickly realized it wasn't going to work, so I improvised by wasting a bunch of money on heavy duty zip ties. Compressed spring off truck, zip tied it up, removed spring compressor, placed it on truck, and then compressed arms and cut away zip ties (i know... lol). In hindsight I would've used a clamshell type or one that uses horseshoe shaped plates. My problem was that my shock wouldn't fit unless mounted inside the spring when compressed. The spring compressors that attach to the outside I had a hard time finding clearance, and the one from auto parts store went up the middle which I needed for my shock. The clamshell wouldve worked great I think.

So to start i took the wheel off (obviously)

Remove the 4 Upper ball joint bolts

Pull the upper ball joint from the upper control arm and let the assembly hang (you can use a jack and it wont put stress on the ball joint)

Lift coils and stock coils are oddly the same length

I didnt get the next step in pictures but Behind the control arm you will fins 2 bolts holding the Cross Shaft to the spring perch, remove those and the Upper control arms will simply pull up and out.

NEXT: to get the bushings out i used a 5 ton jaw puller... everything worked but the stock control arms are so weak it started to flex and the metal tore down the middle! I used my angle grinder to cut them in half and it made it much easier.
    AoSJJv_ojdy6p5O9tV_UVfJs12DGTAGaZCc7n8Qp_a7c4ad27b922358557d909459e95fa358a36bf2c.jpg

Also no pictured is the install of the new springs. I pushed the LCA as low as it could go, set the top of the spring in the perch and persuaded the bottom of the spring onto the lower control arm with a combination of 2 pry bars and a swift kick. this was by far the longest part of the process. I personally had 0 luck with any spring compressors

The picture youve all been waiting for!!!

The drivers side has stock springs and a spacer, the passenger side has the lift coil and Upper control arm.

    BONUS:
My drivers side UCA was broken so i replaced that at the same time. VERY VERY EASY to do. I ordered the replacement from MEVOTECH, very high quality and exact fit.
