The UCA for the 1st gen 5-lug Tacoma is actually part number: FT4130-4A

I came upon this thread wondering the same thing. It appears that the arm is different for the Pickup vs Tacoma, but it may fit with some modification (not sure).

I found the part information here:

    http://www.performancelifts.com/installation/fabtech/FT4130-4-6 Instruction Sheet.pdf

...from the installation instructions of the kit itself. The kit's part number was: FTS-4130-4-6 (6cyl) FTS-4130-4-4 (4cyl)

I say "was", because I am pretty sure most of these parts have been discontinued.

The only related parts I found that are not discontinued are the replacement bushings: FTS1000
...and the replacement bushing and sleeve kit: FTS1106

OP, I know you ended up going a different route, but I wanted to offer up the information I had discovered since stumbling across this thread.

I have been toying with a few ideas for mid-travel myself. What do you think about this one?

1.) Convert lower control arms to use the coilover plates sold on streetacos.com
2.) Get Bilstein to re-groove the 2nd gen Xterra/Frontier Bilstein 5100's at the bottom of the shock body.
3.) Use appropriate coils, bushings, cross shafts, etc.. for new setup

I actually emailed Bilstein today, and they said it's $10 / groove, but you have to buy the shocks elsewhere and send them to their Cali location for service. You also void your warranty.

The ride height adjustable 5100's for the Frontier/Xterra (24-187053) have the following travel specs:

    Extended Length: 15.26"
    Collapsed Length: 10.55"

Compared to the Fabtech FTS-7078 shocks I am currently running:

    Extended Length: 14.30"
    Collapsed Length: 9.52"

I think the one inch difference would be manageable, especially with a lift and relocating the coil spring perches lower. This could be a much cheaper solution than coilovers if it ended up working out. I am still trying to figure out the specifics, like whether or not you could find a good coil spring for that kind of setup and the right bushings for the lower shock eye. Here's a photo of what I am talking about:

I guess the overall goal is to make a "similar-to-downey" setup without the downey coil and lower arm.

That looks like it would would well enough i just personally dont like the digressive valving of Bilstein shocks. The one thing im worried about with new shocks is the entire inch less ill have of compression

ive been looking for different options, and stumbled across these: https://www.summitracing.com/parts/aaf-all64154

    https://www.qa1.net/suspension/stre...l-over-shocks/507-aluminum-stocker-star-shock

essentially, theyre a coilover adapter for the QA1 shocks so you can get the extra inch back of travel and also have the ride height adjustability.

also costs just a smidge less

This looks like the missing ingredient for my vision, awesome! They even make a tube for the billys.

@z_thompsonpa check these out, theyre Monotube instead of twin tube so theyre better if youre planning to do some more speed oriented wheeling like i am. twin tube will heat up and aerate with vigorous use.

The coilover adapter is gonna be a hit or miss ill order it to see if it fits but im not sure. ridetech is produced with fox internals and engineering so hopefully ill come out ahead with these ones. but i know the QA1 is a tried and true setup other 5 luggers have used.

I like the idea of fox internals on the front of a 5-lug. As far as high speeds go, have you given much thought about the cross shafts and the ball joint brackets?

I know that Total Chaos makes some billet cross shafts (TC-98420), but I've seen a few custom made ones in the forums as well.

The lower ball joint brackets has got me stumped, though. I've seen the past threads on the custom made ones, but I don't have a definite plan for mine as of yet.

I tried to get a set from him when he first posted it but after a couple messages nothing happened. Does anyone have the part # for the LB bracket? Or where to get it that is not the stealership?

That's already a weak point on these trucks, getting a used 1 that is possibly ready to break, no thank you.

I wasn't planning on making them myself, but sure would be nice to have some sort of plan about how to obtain such masterpieces. ;)

I am finding the part number to be: 48627-35030

Unfortunately, It's an OEM only part afaik. About ~$55-65 per side

Nice! You are right that it doesn't look that hard.. if I could find somebody local to do it. I still wonder how much it would cost.

shouldnt be too hard, i feel like the most expensive aspect would be the material its being made from.
