How much backspacing does the oem 15" steel 5 lug wheels my 2007 regular cab came with have?
Have searched this forum and the internet and all I can find is offset and bore size.
I want to compare backspacing of oem wheel with aftermarket alloy wheels to find out if tires will be out further and if so by how much. Have not decided on which alloy wheels I want, but I will stick with 15" wheels and 225/75-15 tires. Either Firestone Destination AT or Goodyear Wrangler Trail Runner AT.

@Big Spender Pretty sure it's 34mm...maybe someone else will confirm...

34mm offset equals a 4.84 backspace according to the following converter: The same website has a bunch of different calculators that allow you to visually compare different offsets, tire sizes, etc. Just click on the different tabs.

We've got an '07 2.7L 2wd access cab and have been looking into aftermarket wheels. I have been cautioned by members of this forum (and elsewhere) that very few aftermarket wheels (and I believe this applies to 15" and 16" wheels) will clear our brake calipers.

I was told by Lance at 4WheelParts that none of the steel wheels would clear the calipers and to look at the alloy wheels only.

I originally just wanted some inexpensive black steel wheels for a second set of tires (ATs for occasional use). I ended up buying Pro Comp 7069 in 15" x 8" (which have a -19mm offset), but am rethinking that decision... I, too, want to bump the tires out a bit, so I'm looking at minimum offset of 0 to -19...Doesn't seem to be a lot of choices...several around -6 and -7...

I'm thinking 15" x 7" will give me more tire options as 235/75R15s won't mount on an 8" rim. Looks like one has to step up to 30 x 9.5 x 15 for that...That might limit choices should one ever want to downsize...I'm thinking that is especially true if you are looking at 225/75R15.

I would be interested in how your research is coming along...I'm having a hard time finding a good rim at a reasonable price that will clear our calipers.

    Is yours 2wd or 4wd?
