Anyone have a part number for 5 lug rear axle seals? I can't tell if they use the same as the 6lug/4wd or not

Hmm. Good question. I’ll bet they are different.

I don't see any differentiation in my 95-00 parts list, so you're looking at the same part - 90310-50006. Part 14 in the diagram below.

Weird, I thought the same thing/was confused at to which seal it was in the diagram, but then looked at the image (below) of the parts I have in my 6-lug Replacing Rear Axle Seals tutorial, and the part number on the Toyota bag is 90310-50006. Matching that up to the parts diagram, 90310-50001 was replaced by 90310-50006, which is why I went with part #14 in my answer. :notsure:

See my last note above. 90313-48001 is definitely the outer dust seal, not the axle seal that leaks.

Here's the Toyota TSB that discusses the change from -50001 to -50006, and it's obviously the part we're talking about:

@O'Silver_Taco - not sure if we're talking past each other. I though OP was asking about the inner seals (that press into the housing), since those are the ones that folks generally need to replace when they notice a leak.

At any rate, OP now has part numbers for both.

Brain fart......I could have it backwards......have a 98 and here's all the parts for a non abs one if you do the whole thing..
    minus the wheel cylinder kit...

    CIMG5267.jpg

    went back corrected my BS...

If you have abs you have to have a second drive axle shaft retaining ring and snap ring...

Like I said its definitely good to replace that inner one....before it causes a butt load of pain...

The new seal will ride in a slightly different place because of its redesign...
its worth watching the timmy videos thoroughly.....

A lot of the 4-runners are leaking after the new seal.....hence that TBS they released above....

If you have a pre 2001 I'd get the older seal if you can.....O'timmy dont tell that in his videos...

Mcgeorge didnt have the old ones.....I had no choice...

or you can go off the reservation....
