    Hey guys. So, whats the difference between 5 and 6 lug tacos? I thought there wasnt one, but I was just looking at suspension sites and noticed they said the parts are NOT interchangeable. Interesting..........

    Whats the story behind this?

    4x4s and prerunners have beefier suspension that can take more of a beating. frames are totally different as far as crossmembers and suspension mounts. 5 lugs are more for daily drivers and better on gas. and lots of other things that are different but too lazy to type more lol

    from what i have seen sr5 is the luxury models with power everything i guess?

    LOL no.... not at all. I have an SR5 and it's manual locks and windows if that's what you mean. Nothing "luxury" about it.

    In the latter part of the 1970's, the SR5 connotation denoted an option code
    for the HiLux series of trucks, similar to what the Z71 option code currently
    means for an upgraded Chevy or GMC pickup or Tahoe/Yukon. Originally released
    around 1975, the 'S' denoted Sport, 'R' denoted the RN motor code, and '5'
    denoted the 5-speed transmission. It quickly caught on and the SR5 connotation
    passed onto the Corolla and then onto other Toyota car models. Even though the
    HiLux name was dropped in 1979 for the United States market, it is still used
    today elsewhere in the world as the name for a Tacoma-like pickup and/or the
    4Runner, depending on the market. ​

    Note: Some other historical information shows that the Corolla had the "SR5"
    designation first, then it was passed on to the HiLux series. The majority of
    historical information seems to promote the HiLux first, then the Corolla,
    rather than vice-versa.​

    Today, the SR5 generally denotes a specifc Toyota trim level, with a more
    sportylook and wide flexibility for options.

    So my bushings are shot in the front arms that connect to the beefy lower main arm. What is this arm called and do they sell replacement bushings or is it easier to just by a new Arm?

    Its the skinny lil sumbitch i've outlined.

    Sport rally 5speed.....5 lugs are harder to lift because they have fewer options than the 6 lug. 5 lugs are usually intended for daily driving and 6 lugs are more for offroad use. suspension difference and frame difference is the big difference....basically what joel said:)

    i believe that is called the strut rod. not sure though. i know there is a member on custom tacos that sells heimed ones so its easier to replace. if you want a reaplcement idk if there is one. id call toyota and ask

    great thanks for that man. I think i'll go with some poly strut rod and steering rack bushings, that should tighten things up nicely. I may weld an extra wide washers on each end first to spread out stress points as my dirt hucks undoubtedly cuase extra stress on the metal mounting points.
