My double cab 6 foot bed fits in the garage and holds my WR450F and gear bag with the tailgate closed. I have never looked at or driven a 5 foot bed due to the dirtbike so I have no frame of reference with the short bed. But it’s all in what you need in a truck, so get what works for you!

dirt bikes fit fine in the short bed. Tailgate down with a motogate and I have no trouble at all

Unless you have a tiny garage or you're running rubicon type trails, there is no advantage to a short bed. The turn radius argument is exaggerated. Longbeds are not hard to drive, not hard to park, not hard to get around in city streets, parking garages, forest roads with switchbacks etc.. they do all that just fine. And they fit in most normal sized garages. And they look better.
