.5" or .75" lift blocks?

After finishing the lift on my truck, I'm about 95% happy with the way my truck sits, but not 100%.

5100s all around (fronts set at .85), Eibach front springs, Light Racing control arms, rear TSB springs, and Wheelers 3 leaf HD add a leaf.

If you put a level on the door sill, it sits perfectly level. Most would be happy with that, but Im not. I miss the factory rake.

I fucked around with a tape measure and a jack the other day and Ive determined I wanna bring the rear of the truck up between .5" and .75". Not 1", its too much and makes the tires look too small.

Toytec sells .5" lift shims for 19$ a pop, which is kinda silly I think. Ive searched around and havent come across any other lift blocks in the range I am looking for though. Do they exist? Or is Toytec the only one selling them?

I do not want to replace the whole leaf pack to gain a tiny little bit of lift. And I kicked around the idea of rear airbags, but I dont tow or haul anything big/heavy, so they really dont fit the bill.

lol.. I am in the same boat.. I think I might do the 1/2 inch shims though..

only other option is to buy a 1" block and I can shave it down to 1/2 inch. hehe

 

If your handy- you maybe able to find an over load spring off a full size in a u-pull it yard or CL- just take a cutting wheel to it and make your own 1/2 spacer.

 

Consider me in the same boat. Been considering the 1/2 shims as well.

 

Atleast Im not the only one....

I do have the non TSB spring sitting in the garage. I may dig them out tomorrow and see what I can do with them

 

A level will only work if the truck is on perfectly level ground BTW

Never will forget seeing a friend of mine trying to use a 4' level on his boat.....that was in the water.....while waves were rocking the boat.

 

My springs all "settled" in with the rear sagging a bit... you may want to first let your left run for a bit to see what it does before making any changes. I had about 1" of rake after my lift and now my bed is almost sagging a half inch under (at least it looks like it.)

 

Truck was measured in the garage on a level concrete floor.

The lift has been on the truck for over a year now. So I think everything has settled.

 

I took a cutoff wheel to the other springs I have. 5/8" thick. I dont see why this wont work.

LOL yeah. Something tells me itll be an increase of roughly 5/8" in rear height.

I need to cut the other one still and grab some new centering pins then I can install them .

 

No jacks, on level ground, use your 1' or 2' level horizontally to accurately drop a line from the bottom of the fender flair to the center of the rear wheel's hub. Measure the distance from the bottom of the fender flair to the center of the hub. That will give you an accurate reading of the distance. You can use that to determine how much you need to lift or lower the rear suspension.

 

My method yeilded the same results.

I had the same issue... Rear settled and I needed about 1/2". I had some 1" aluminum blocks laying around so I put them in the mill and took about 3/8" off. Tiny bit of rake now, perfect. I realize not everyone has a mill though...
