Do the wheels use mag lug seat lug nuts? These are the lug nuts that have the integrated washer.

I want to know if they're good for my second gen truck, because better (less) backspacing.

    Thank you.

And a follow on question... Will my TPMS sensors from my existing 2nd gen TRD off road wheel work on the 5-star 1st gen wheel?

    1. Yep, 2nd gen lugnuts will transfer over.

    2. Yep, with the usual caveats with transferring TPMS sensors - to avoid leaks, you should get a fit kit and replace all the wear parts in each sensor assy (O-rings, stem, etc.). Also keep in mind TPMS sensor battery life rarely exceeds 7 years.

Thank you for the picture! As I understand it my TRD OR wheels have backspacing of 5.25" and the 5-spoke backspacing is 4.50". Switching wheels should yield 3/4""more space, which I desperately need.

I presume the weight of the wheels are similar. I have a weight for the TRD OR wheel, but not the 5-spoke one...

    Thank you.

I'm pretty sure you OR wheels are 7.5" wide, which is wider (16x7) than the stock 1st gen alloys. That will have some impact on the BS numbers. However, I may be confusing the width with the Sport wheels.

Also, the 1st gen wheels are +15 mm of offset so closer to 4 9/16 BS on a 7" wide wheel.

Thanks for the offset info. 4" 9/16. I'll take it. Should work for my usage.

The TRD OR wheel is 16x7"

The TRD sport wheels are the 17x7.5"

It ca be difficult to find the specs for these things. This thread was helpful, but is very incomplete: https://www.tacomaworld.com/threads/wheel-specs.30754/

SO if I compare the offset of the two wheels. The TRD OR wheel offset is 32mm, and the 5-spoke is 15mm. That's a difference of 17mm which is .669" That's less than 3/4" but more than 1/2".

I guess that's good. Should still work...

You could even go for a set of 4Runner rims from 3rd Gen (same look as 1st Gen Tacoma) since they are similar in spec

I think the black painted ones are sport and the silver are the limiteds. they should be the same size/BS. however if you go the Tundra brake upgrade double check the fit. the split 3-star rims have to be trimmed inside a little.

Thank you @frizzman You have been a huge help.

Over the weekend I picked up these 4-runner wheels. I confirmed the backspacing with a ruler. :)

Be careful with the wheels in the top picture. Not sure if the user was using spacers or not but I had these wheels and they hit my calipers
Nice! You ever see those with beadlocks put on them? They look sweet!
