I did 20 on fronts which match the back factory glass perfect. I have had vehicles with 5 and its to much bs with backing up at night and worrying about the cops.

i have 5% on the back window and doors. In an access cab it is a little dicey looking out when changing lanes or backing up, but i have a backup cam for reverse and dont make any sudden lane changes. I have 20% on the front because 38% didnt really seem dark enough compared to the back. I would go darker in the front if i wasnt afraid of the ticket

Did thirty on my driver/passenger window and totally regret it. Haven't even got the ticket yet, but that is coming for sure unless I get it off. And I'm going to get it off; I love it in the daytime but half my commute is in the early morning and I CAN'T SEE SHIT out the sides. Which is a problem for turning the vehicle and frankly I'm afraid I'll run somebody over. Was totally not worth it.

I'm going to get it redone, which will cost more, with the lightest possible tint I can find of the heat blocker stuff - which totally works, BTW - and hope that the cops don't notice that.

I might also add that I'm in SD, haven't seen a CHP unit on the freeway in a decade, and all of the sudden I'm seeing them every day, multiple units, don't know what order went out but if you're driving in San Diego try not to be stupid out there on the freeways because the heat is out there and it seems they're looking for blood. And probably idiots like me who tinted their driver and passenger windows.

I got 35% on my front doors, 5% for the brow and 2 sheets of 5% on the back window and rear doors. Any time I get in my buddys truck I tell him he needs to get his windows tinted and he says yea they are its limo back there. Ive gotten so used to mine being dark limo is nothing but a cloudy fart.

I ran 5% all around like a wild child for a few years. Then after I was written my second ticket I watched this :jerkoff: state trooper trainee pull out a razor and cut a huge X in both front windows. So now a play by the rules with 25% up front and 5% in the back.

Mine is 35% back, 15% front. with factory tints in the back, it almost evens it out.

I never looked up the actuall law. But I got my windows tinted by a shop that also does state inspection. So going by what they said was legal is what I went with on my truck. Either the law has changed or they don't know what the law is. Either way that shop has been there for over 20 years and I go there for inspection.

Shop I use has something printed on the receipt you get. Something along the lines of the customer has been informed and aware of local tint laws and the shop assumes no liability if they're pulled over blah blah blah.

I used to do 30% on my vehicles but that was never dark enough. Had 15% on the Tacoma and never had an issue with police (basically anything on the front windows is illegal here in PA) in 4 years and now have the same on the Tundra with no issues so far, knock on wood.

Probably varies by state as far as inspection. Here in PA, illegal tint has no bearing on your annual inspection. Not something they look at.

Just takes getting used to. I had it on my G37s and on my Taco. The privacy is worth it...

Just curious, when people say they have a medical note for tint..what are some examples of that?

I'm just planning to do 15% on my rear only (slider)..my old Chevy truck had that factory and helped with the glare from oncoming cars.

My ex gf had medical issues and got a doctor's recommendation for illegal tint because of her treatments..other than that I'm not sure, possibly for eye conditions.

Haha!! Well sometimes my GF can get frisky, but also its harder for poeple to see in and see what is inside. Less likely to break in.

It actually got me out of a speeding ticket. The cop gave me a fix it ticket instead. so I removed the tint and than had new tint put on a couple months later:p

This is what i'm running and wouldn't change anything... Definitely a little dark for backing up, but with the backup camera its really not an issue.

This happened to me too haha. I got pulled over for speeding so the officer gave me a ticket for window tint instead of a speeding ticket since it was cheaper and wouldn't put any points on my license.

If its too dark go with 30% on the fronts, not as likely to get you a ticket and easier to see out of but still is a very dark shade from outside.
