    Hi everyone,

did a quick search but didn't come up with the capability of the "tpms reset" button.
I was looking to add a tpms sensor to a 5th (spare) wheel/tire and rotate that spare along with the other 4 tires (these are all non-stock wheels/tires), but starting to get the feeling that the TPMS system only memorizes 4 sensors at a time?
in which case I need to get an OBD tool for 'relearning' a new tpms sensor each tire rotation?

or will the 'tpms reset' button suffice for adding in a 5th sensor, but it is sometimes hanging off the bumper as a spare?

I believe that the truck has only 4 active spots and the button only relearns position after rotating those 4 based on this thread.

I still went ahead and got a 5th OEM wheel and 5th TPMS and I plan 5 tire rotation when I buy my next set of shoes.

Great question, I plan to get some used wheels, extra wheels to the trailer and rotate the spare in, why waste a perfectly good tire by letting it sit as a spare.

On my 2nd gen that also only holds 4 spots, I have to plug in the tool to reprogram the TPMS to know which 4 sensors to listen to when I rotate my 5th wheel in. The reset button under the dash just resets the “ok” pressure of the 4 current sensors it is reading. Reprogramming only takes like 5 minutes with the right tool.

I got it on Amazon as a Lightning Deal so it only cost me $111. After you rotate, you can walk around and read each sensor, store it to this, then plug it in and program those sensors to the truck. Super easy.

thanks for the info, unfortunate that it requires a separate tool, oh well.

I've always done five tire rotations on 4x4s with a matching tire and I was thinking of doing the same, but bummer that one needs a tool. I was surprised that my 2019 OR only came with a matching spare tire? That's just a waste of a tire... :(
