The likely hood of a proper color match on that door scenario is slim to none...

You sir, just got a FREE pass to try butt stuff with your gf again. Money in the butt bank. Or any other oddball kink you wanted to do but she said NO the first time.

Id be pissed too. Like, really pissed. I hope she was too and made sure the kid knew not to do it again. My guess is you're fucked. Its get a touch up pen and at least fill in the gaps so it wont rust. Im finding the paint to be VERY thin on my 2021 taco.

Is ‘sweet’ worth having a kid around who doesn’t know to keep hands off things that are not his?
At 5 it should know to keep hands off anything not his.

what do I know though, I’m not having kids and want nothing to do with them. Don’t even mess around with single moms for these kinds of reasons. No amount of ‘sweet’ is worth that.
All the more power to ya if you can put up with this kinda behaviour.

^this is the only correct course of action at this point - then fix the scratch.

Eh, single Mom's need love too. I've dated four (no, not at the same time). Although I've never dated a girl with a kid that young.

OP, I'm not sure how I'd handle something like that. Get it fixed of course, on the Mom's dime if that's possible. As far as what to do after that (stay, go, hook-up with her BFF) that's your call.

I have nothing to add as to how to fix the paint. If it were me I'd take it to a good Body Shop; maybe let them try buffing it out if not re-paint. And maybe keep a closer eye on the kid

Maybe some sort of black vinyl wrap for the lower half of the doors?

Make the girlfriend fix it & then find a new girlfriend. Preferably one who keeps a better eye on her idiot kid.

I once used an ice pick to pick-off-ice that had accumulated on my aunts rag-top... punched holes
all into that damn thing - thought I was doing a good deed LOL .... no butt whupping just a good
talking too and I understood and still understand not to fk around with other peoples stuff.

A man I met once while waiting way too long in line to get my kid signed up for an apartment in college
said to me: "If this is the worst thing that happens to me then it's a good day."

I thought about that and it's true - about 2 hours later I learned that my dentist, his wife, also a dentist and another
dentist and someone else were killed in an airplane crash on the way home from a dental thing. They were damn good
people in their mid-30's... often flew around the state to perform free services for the needy. The world lost some good
people that day and 4 children lost some damn good parents.

So... remember this... "If this is the worst thing that happens to me then it's a good day."

sucks OP. As a father of 4, I do feel your pain. NOTHING stays nice with kids around

Do a pastel rubbing of it and give it to your GF, framed, for her birthday.

Shit happens, take the truck on a nice tight scrub brush trail, you'll never see it again. Make the kid wash the truck for the rest of his life.

Looks like he has his crosshairs set on you!
Easy to be pissed about it in the moment, but in the long run you'll probably laugh about it. It's not the end of the world. My daughter did this at 3yrs old, and 21yrs later we joke about tagging each others vehicles.

Orbital buffer and some rubbing compound should get the majority of it. Good luck!
