50" Curved Light Bar Mounting Brackets?

Just chiming in so that others don't make the same mistake I did. Be careful to double check the sizes of the bar and the mounting screws if you choose to mix brackets and light bars. As an earlier post states, most of the these light bars are basically the same. However, as I found out, there are indeed different sizes. I was hoping to use the Cali Raised LED 50" curved brackets with a cheaper 50" curved Auxbeam light I found on Amazon. Unfortunately, they were not compatible. The mounting holes were different sizes and the bar was about an inch too short for the brackets. The brackets that Cali Raised LED sales are intended for their light bars. They are of excellent quality, but they apparently do not fit all 50" curved LED Bars. They may actually be for the 51.5" bars they sale. I would recommend these brackets, but only if used with the light bar combo they sale or if you are sure they will fit your bar. Hope this is helpful.

Edit: I found more information on the bracket manufacturer's site that confirms that though the brackets have 50" in the name, they are actually intended for 51.5"-52" light bars.

Those look awesome. I saw those, but just decided to try the other brackets. Keep us posted on how those work out. I may end up going with those instead. I like that they use the factory roof rack holes for the double-cab.

 

Will do! I'm planning on ordering them next week. Those brackets stood out to me because they really keep your bar low and close to the windshield! And is easy to install

 

I finally got some pictures of the installed Auxbeam 50" curved LED bar and the MCM Fab and Design roof mounts. These mounts were super easy to install and I think they look great.

 

You could ask Matt @M C M, what will fit before you order lights. He's an active member here.

 

Looks good man! I'm waiting on my bar to come in this week also "50 buts it's a cree. I'm odering those mounts aswell l like how low it sits and it's close to the windshield

 

My bar came in today earlier than I expected can't wait to install it

 

How did you mount them? Did you cut the black strip in order to fit around the bracket? It sounds like some people mount it right through the rubber...pics would be awesome

 

@Mason Moose, I pulled the black strips off and cut them to fit around the brackets. Then put them back in over the brackets. Used some clear RVT Silicone to help glue the strips back down. I'd suggest using black Silicone instead of clear. I actually had the same question and asked the manufacturer. They said that is how they install them. I'll grab some pics when I get a chance.

 

I have the MCM brackets on aswell and I did cut around the Black weather strip it's pretty easy. I just cut like a little rectangle to make it fit exactly where the bracket bolts go. I'll show you a pic in a bit

@Mason Moose here's how mine look. Yea pretty much the same cut as @GreyComa so you shouldn't have a problem cutting the weather strip. Let me see pics after you do your setup
Oh yea and I know my bar looks like poop from the cales in the back lol I tried some things to make the whistle go away taping method, edge trim method and foam pieces method

 

I'm still trying to figure out the whistling thing. It is not as bad as before the edge trim, but I would love to get rid of it completely.

 

Honestly man all that shit I put into the scales helped the whistle calm down a lot to be honest. I think the tape method and the edge trim helped it a lot and blocking out the air vents from the top of the bar and bottom. But it's still a on going battle of trying to get rid of the whistle completely does your bar whistle ?

 

My bar does whistle a bit. I am getting better at ignoring it and I it is not horrible anymore, but I am likely going to keep trying to get rid of the whistling.

 

I'm a noob for asking, but to mount the mounts, you must drill into the cab vertically correct?
And what are you all using for screws? Self securing?
Or will I have to remove the head liner and secure from he back side?

For the Double Cab, the screws that came with the brackets will fit the factory holes where the factory roof rack would go. The factory roof rack holes are covered by a tape that has been painted over. Pretty easy to tell where they are and you just cut the tape off the holes with a razor blade to expose them. You should seal them with silicone when you put the screws in. The factory holes have threads, so no need for removing the headliner. I'm not sure on the access and regular cab. I think you would have to drill holes and use rivet nuts.
