I was at the Pentagon 18 months. You have no idea parking in row 45 and walking in past the fitness center at zero morning thirty. Insane saluting. They finally did away with it after I went back to intel.

Finished up the mini running boards so I can get up into this beast. I'm vertically challenged so we needed something for now. A 1.625" tubing bender is in my future after the 600mm lens. One stack after another. LMAO

Keurig. I have about $100 worth of pods to use so I'm kinda stuck with it.
Got a $37 dollar store credit for my old machine thanks to the extended warranty, no questions asked. Mom paid $40 for it 2 years ago so thats not bad. New machine was $55 and I got another extended warranty for $6...$24 out of pocket so not bad.

I've got a jar of meat in the cabinet just waiting for the right day. Got to be rainey, almost cold, and nothing else to eat in the house...ahahahahha.

Best chow in the Navy is on a Submarine. Period.
Best chow in the Army is at something called a "Small Garrison" dining hall. Size of a small shed, wait in line and the best food I've eaten on base.

Oh Chuck, midrats was awesome. I did a assload of comshaw to get a midrats pass..
Comshaw. The term used when obtaining something outside of official channels or payment, usually by trading or bartering. For example, sailors on a deployed ship got pizza in exchange for doing the laundry of the C-2 Greyhound crew that flew it in.

The rain finally stopped about lunch and I’ve been taking care of stuff all day. You guys were having a good discussion while I was busy.

CG enlisted/officer interactions are very much like the Marines as far as the respect shown by the enlisted but it was somewhat less formal for routine daily interactions if that makes sense. The O's will normally go through the Chiefs (E-7 types) to give normal tasking but you did have a lot of O/enlisted direct interaction. You don’t see a junior enlisted Coastie yelling at officers. Chiefs, Senior Chiefs and Master Chiefs (E-7, 8, 9) have been know to raise a voice to O's, especially junior officers. Lol.

As far as Chief Warrant Officers, we DO have more authority than O2s (and higher in some cases). I retired as a CWO4 so I guess I’m a little biased. Lol. I worked very hard to become a SME and it doesn’t sit well with us when some wet behind the ears Nugget tries to be the big dog. The CO always called me to fix problems that JOs created. There is no point in acting like the one did with you, that sounds like a asshole being an asshole regardless of branch.

The Coastie cooks were great! I never made it to Petaluma but everyone that did go there raved about the food. I can tell you the food at a CG chow hall was a few steps above other branch chow halls. It didn’t matter if it was a 20 man Boat Station, a Cutter, or a field mess in the desert, they could turn out a meal.

I'm on my 3rd keurig from walmart. Service deal is awesome because the machine will shit the bed. (don't clean mine much) when you box it up to send back, when UPS scans the box, your money is in the bank before you get home...that's phucking good. LOL

pretty sure it was the pump that went out. just in time though - warranty only has 2-ish months left! i know mom had to replace her first one and didnt have the warranty so after that the extended warranties were mandatory. they didn't ask for mine back, just sent me a e-gift card :notsure: probably a good thing though, box got thrown out in the garage clean out last winter.
