So we have a pretty big volunteer program at work. We have over 100 volunteers who do everything from working in the contact stations to rangering to maintenence to cleaning restrooms. These people come from all walks of life to work the LTVA's for 4-6 months just because they want to. So in November we have the kick-off meeting and in May we have the close-out meeting. For the last couple seasons I've been doing the burgers and dogs and tomorrow is no different. I'll have lunch ready about 1100 hrs. The worst part is smelling like a hamburger for the rest of the day, but get to meet or get reacquainted with some pretty interesting people.

Wow you all are hard to stay up with! Sounds like good night is SOP at this point and agree, hope everyone has had a good day and an even better one tommorow.

Good luck on your procedure and hope you "recover"! I hate the preliminary part also...

Oh boy really hope it is just a normal growth and nothing serious. As they get older it is more common but some can be deadly. Wish your little buddy well and that his change in feelings is not related to the growth!

This hits the nail on the head IMO. Congress doesn't have to pay and those of us that are retired military are covered by Champus, tricare or what ever the hell it is called now. And the rest of the insurance companies have to cover dependents over 21 but under 26 however Tricare does not, because it is government. WTH?!

Last year I had an accountant fill out my taxes for the first time and he made a mistake and didn't put down that I am covered by medical insurance and I work at the number one medical institution in the US and am covered. Plus covered by my military retirement. Yet the IRS sent me a bill for $2,700 and wants it yesterday. I can appeal it and will but will take 16-24 weeks, after I pay it.

Like most medical institutions we had to cut staff by 20% to offset the loss of revenue for the new medical laws and reimbursements, yet see the same volume of patients and provide the same level of care as before. We were successful but it hasn't been easy. Not all medical facilities have been able to do so. Don't get me started... What is the correct answer at the individual level and insurance vs. penalty and doing what is "right"? One heck of a question and I wish you the best, it shouldn't be like this. The solution in place has caused more problems than it has solved IMO. I do not have the answer though, it is well above my paygrade. It is what it is and have to live with it for now. Hopefully it will change to something that makes sense and soon.
