yup. there's plenty of bear and wolf issues too that no one can do much about. but there is a rule out here that gives ranchers free reign to shoot and kill any predator that is killing their animals. they'reallowed to protect their animals and their way of life/income.

and some folks still do it the old school way... plenty of open range land up here where ranchers haul their cattle off into the forests for the summer. just leave them to graze and fend for themselves all summer and collect them just prior to hunting season in the fall. i'm sure there's a few head lost every year but no one seems worried. and there's an area that i camp in where there are sheepherders just out with a few hundred head of sheep, an old-timey wagon and a horse or two and a few dogs. and they are definitely in bear country - not a year goes by without a human/bear conflict. but the sheeps survive.

I got a bit carried away recently.

I have a lime tree in a container and have it in the house for the winter. Roughly 6’ tall. So, it’s been light deprived even with it in the sunniest window, so I bought a grow light. It came in yesterday… Best way to describe it is a landing light on a 747…

When the limes are ready, it’ll be margarita time. Photos then but not before…

It’s all going to be worth it but it was quite the wait.

I’ll be the gray haired weirdo with his head hanging out the front window!
    That’s just wrong!

Good evening/morning. Hope all is well. Been away caring for my dad, so I’ve only stopped in to catch up on postings. Hospice says we are down to a couple of weeks…dad is stubborn wanted the make it through the holidays so we weren’t reminded of his passing every year. He is pretty weak and extremely uncomfortable. Life is precious…goes too quickly. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year. Stay Well…Stay Safe
