    Winter decided to return to the gulf coast last night. It was sunny and 70 yesterday, wake up to 34, breezy and a high of about 50 if we’re lucky. At least no white stuff for us.

    I believe you just recently moved to TN, but is snow in western TN common, if you know? I ask, because my wife, and her folks, are highly considering eastern TN as a potential place to move to in the next year or so. I love the snow, and would really prefer to live where it gets at least a few inches every winter.

    You weren't so interested when it was -10* the other day...
    Main priority today is a trip to the hardware store to figure out something to help clear the snow off the camper. Got about 8" piled up there and im getting worried about the weight. Got to do something before if rains as the resulting ice will be impossoble to deal with.
    Back up plan is to turn the heat on and hope the warmth radiating thru the roof melts it

    Tennessee is divided up into three regions Western Tennessee , Middle Tennessee and Eastern Tennessee . Western Tennessee and Middle Tennessee where I live annual snowfall is 3-5 inches per year . Yesterday’s snow storm in Middle Tennessee was stronger due to weather conditions that were not normal weather patterns

    Now in Eastern Tennessee near the Appalachian mtns annual snowfall is 16 inches per year

    I have a broom and a length of pvc. Stick the broom handle into the pvc and stand in the bed of the truck while parked right next to the camper. Problem is that by the time the broom gets to the far side its just gliding on top of the snow. Got to figure out something that will stay under the snow without damaging the roof.

    Simple. Push the camper over on it's side. What doesn't fall off can easily be brushed off. Then push it back right side up.

    Not sure why you are making this so difficult?? :confused:

    Another way to clear snow off the roof of the camper is remount the camper onto the truck . Next drive as fast as you can then slam on the brakes . The opposing forces will loosen that slab of snow and it'll clean instantly !!! :rofl::rofl:

    plan B is actually to turn on the heat, let the bottom layer melt, then load up the camper and go for a drive. I just dont want to be the asshole showering the cars behind me in a whiteout

    I just came in the house to warm up a bit.
    Driveway is cleaned up. Now I got the roof rake out. Can't reach it all. Thankfully it's light fluffy snow. Tommorow the wind picks up and that should help.
    The temps went down. It's now 1°.
    Thankfully no wind today.

    Now that I provided the BS answer, maybe something realistic... Once you get it cleaned off, could you get a small tarp or cover to put on the roof, then when it snows enough, just pull the cover off, ditch the snow, then cover it again? Or would that be too much of a risk for the cover freezing to the roof?
