I used to date a lady from Timber, OR. and went down from Wa. State to hunt elk with her father and brother. We pulled out of their driveway at O'dark thirty in the morning and a hundred yards from the house there was a herd of elk crossing the road with the lights of the truck shinning under their bellies. Before long they were passing all around us, behind and in front. Spent the day chasing them in the mountains, how that many huge animals can disappear is still one of life's great mysteries to me. Black timber comes to mind though.

Everytime I hear Dungeness still think of fishing the Dungeness river in Wa. and did it a lot. At the mouth where it empties into Puget Sound there were tons and tons of logs\floats where they harvested crabs. Hard to believe that now they have them all the way down into Ca. Maybe the have for a long time. But where the Dungeness dumps into the sound is THE crabbing spot for Dungeness crabs!

Christie's Grandfather lived in Koosbay. I think we were in Bandon crabbing. We pulled the pots and went to the doc where there was a guy there to steam them. A thirty minute drive later we were surrounded by elk. I could live there except there's no work.
