Yeah, I skimmed that link, looks simple enough ... and maybe not a terrible idea to require a base amount of knowledge. :notsure: :anonymous:

I enjoy modular firearms like Glocks and AR's. With so many aftermarket parts I feel like a big kid building with adult Logos. This is my Glock/Lone Wolf long side with a 6.6" barrel.

    Ok Gang,

I am going to jump in here I was debating getting into the gun / ammo and situation discussion and if you look at my ICON and have been around here a little you know what I do for a living. That being said be very careful what you post about what you have and how you plan on handling self protection ensure you know the laws in your state Castle Doctrine etc . Posting what you WILL do on a public forum is risky wrongful death attorneys have very good investigators and nothing on the net ever goes away. I know a few here have had training on use of pistols and they are a very good option if your awake and have lights on etc. If you can go to a night time range or some place you can legally and safely discharge a weapon in the pitch black . You will learn quickly your most likely not going to be able to see much after the first round or two in the heat of the moment adrenaline and such missing is a very real possibility. If you choose a pistol choose a caliber that is comfortable and is capable of using hyrda shocks or some other brand of soft noise expanding round is preferable in a home setting to reduce penetration of the subject and through a wall or window always know what is behind your target. If you choose a shot gun Ga does not really matter in a self protection mode IE less then 50 feet unlike the movies spread patterns at 50 feet are not 6 feet plus wide. It is dependent on barrel length, type, choke type , ammunition type. Though, none will spread to a 10 foot wide pattern at close range in a house ie less then 20 feet. There are some very good home defense rounds for shot guns out there frangible lead ( powdered compacted lead) , low loaded buck etc. If you want to pick stuff up locally number 6 shot works well in close range the chances of over penetration with lethal effects ie through subject then a wall or window and lethal wound on the other side are slim. Coincidentally number 6 shot is for bird hunting not INTENDED for self defense so an Attorney can't make the argument " YOU MUST HAVE PLANNED ON KILLING SOMEONE SINCE YOU HAD XXX AMUNITION IN YOUR WEAPON". Same goes for frangible lead, you can load up 2 rnds 6 shot / frangible lead then 2 rnds 4 0000 buck and 1 slug. If you want more look for tube extenders for your weapon but if you hunt with it to TAKE THE TUBE OFF LOL (yep happened here with a guy hunting turkey) However, the same rules apply in the dark you are not likely to see much after the first one or two rounds. I say gauge doesn't matter as I do not think many people could tell the difference in a .410 gauge pump action vs a 10 gauge or anything in between it is dark or light you hear the action or are looking at the business end it will appear to be a sewer pipe. A lot make arguments for lights on weapons which we could all go around and around about there are many variables and training items to consider . Some will argue it makes you an easier target well yeah in a distance fight It would in CQB a bright enough light will blind the subject. Do you want to search your home or property with it on no then you make a really good target kind of like the old saying "Tracers work Both Ways" . Using a pistol or long weapon with a flashlight mounted or un-mounted takes practice please do so with an empty weapon in your home realize how hard it is to maneuver when your awake watching lanes of fire etc. A little practice now might help you out later just my thoughts .

If it went up, it hasn't been noticeable. It tends to fluctuate a little anyway. It worked out well with roof. The contractor came and looked at it and dealt with the adjuster. He also got the gutters replaced and two down spouts. We had to pay for the others but it wasn't much. Also, five or so years ago, we had some water damage to the floors in three rooms. I dealt with the adjuster and did the work myself. They paid me for the labor so I used that to pay for more hardwood for the rest of the house. A LOT of hard work but worth it.

I did pretty good, and I got the speakers $300 off of what that web site showed. I can't wait to get it in. Our TV is on the wall in a recess with the cabinet under it. My wife is changing the cabinet to this electric fireplace/media combo.

And that is why I have stayed away from guns. if you don't have time to train, you are just a danger to yourself and others. Well said Cypher.

Maybe I will get a bazooka
