That's rough. Super shitty of them to try to blackmail you into staying. Is there any bonus/severance incentive for you to stay?
I'd start looking for something new right away. Turn in your 2 weeks just as soon as you are able to, they can't do a damn thing then.
Plenty of places are hiring across the board now. Don't be afraid to branch out and try something new - you never know what you might find out there

    Cost Cutting?
    I will say this.
    First ,,,very sorry..
    Second ,,,, Good for you.
I went through the bullshit cost cutting , selling bullshit twice, and it was the worst times in my career.
I wish it was me that got laid off.
Yes they will bleed you dry to the end of those few months.
By the time your done you won’t want to look at another dealership parts area…
They will disrespect you and hold your feet to the fire.
The work load will ramp up….
And yes they for sure will say you quit and fight the unemployment.
It can and may turn into a hostile work environment.
Take notes and watch your “P’s” and “Q’s”…

Or, find another job and walk the fuck out.

Also @GOLFISHUNTS are you owed any vacation time? Might be time to request those days off

    Evening everyone :hattip:

Awesome day here in Middle Tennessee , currently 79° and slowly cooling down and all the windows are open in my house enjoying the fresh air and light breeze

Currently watching a Cat D10 Dozer ripping the soil up and listening to a couple of Cat excavators breaking rock up into small pieces with a hyd hammer . And also watching a couple of Volvo rock trucks moving the broken up rock

Feels like I'm watching the show Gold Rush LOL !!!

Here is a video about going up to Panamint city in Death Valley. It shows the hike up the waterfall and what is left of the town. The Castle is where we stayed and we rebuilt alot of that cabin. Rob is a great friend of mine and my offroad buddy. Brett was a big part of our adventures.

    MORON REPORT

so we're working on a semi custom project. contractor is a bit helpless/needy so he's not much help when it comes to issues.
i pointed out a problem with something almost three weeks ago. brought it up several times over the course of a week. no one seemed all that excited about it. i needed to move on to other things so i sent an email to my boss saying this is a rough idea of what we can do to fix the issue but someone should probably go on site and double check some things first then contact a local shop to do the custom steel work that needs to be done. that was last tuesday.
contractor emails this morning asking for an update
within 20 minutes my boss, another coworker and another coworker all message me asking whats going on and what to tell the customer. i dunno what to tell them - did anyone read my email from last week? go to the job site? contact a steel shop to see what lead times are? i passed that torch, moved on with my life, not my problem anymore. nope. no one read the email or did anything about it. but thats apparently my fault.
about an hour passes. coworker A sends a reply to my email saying they had a meeting about the project and yes, they agree that there is an issue that needs a solution. can i send some drawings to the steel people?
W - there are no drawings unless someone tells me what to draw.
    *crickets*
an hour later coworker B messages me and asks the same.
    W - same answer.
B - well you need to draw what the steel people need to build
    W - which would be?????
    *crickets*
fast forward to this afternoon. coworker A messages me again asking when i'll have the drawings done.
W - i dunno. about 30 minutes after someone tells me what i'm drawing
A - oh, well who would know that?
W - i dunno. someone who was in the meeting this morning about the design
A - oh, well we didn't talk about the design. just made sure that there was an issue
W - which we already knew. so no decisions were made?
    A - no.
W - so there's nothing for me to draw
A - well you need to draw what the steel people need to build
    W - which would be??????
    *crickets*

in total about 50 messages back and forth and yet no progress has been made. now this was an issue that could have been handled a week ago at our leisure but is now a rush because no on acknowledged my email last week.

Sorry to hear this, sounds like a genuinely dirty and underhanded way to treat a long term employee.

They have set the loyalty standard here -- you now don't owe them anything but a professional 2 week notice -- regular schedule, regular hours.

Start the job hunt tomorrow, you may be surprised how valuable a person with a solid work history is. In my area there are good job available all over -- but younger folks don't seem to want to work anymore.
