    Weather nerd time, most weather apps use the NWS forecast for the closest large city to you. In most cases that works fine but if you are some distance away, or like you are at elevation, the forecast can be very different.

    The best weather app I’ve used is Meteoblue. It was actually recommend to us by the NWS in a disaster planning workshop I attended for hurricane planning when I was still with the Sheriff’s Office. It uses what they call hyper weather forecasts to give you very accurate forecasts based on your location and a handful of other variables. The only negative is it’s radar picture doesn’t give the details like you would expect.

    Meteoblue app is available for Apple and Google.

    For weather radar I use Storm Radar Weather Tracker. Not sure if is available for Google.

    The forest service over here is rich apparently. Went through and put new rings in most of the camps.
    I don't like this style, too hard to cook on. There's another style that the grate can go lower/closer to the fire and is easier to cook on.
    I'll check into it, thanks.
    And yeah, know all about the proximity thing. I usually look up the forecast for the closest two bigger cities and take an average from that.
