Yep anything we did as a kid in the 1960's is highly illegal and frowned upon now !!!

 

M-80’s with a delayed fuse and metal garbage can was “just a prank “, you got a ass whoppin, but no serious consequences. But only if you got caught.

 

Did the same here but dropping a lit M80 down thru a man hole cover .... Boom !! . The other was chain link fence posts made for perfect motar tubes . Remove fence post cap drop m80 down inside and tap the fence post cap back on a run !!

I wasn’t going to say but I had a reward out for myself and another buddy over blowing one off the post. I just happened to be with the right friend and nobody would drop a dime on us.

We found out later that there was a utility worker in the storm drainage a block over from where we were dropping the M-80’s into . I guess we kinda scared him !!

My favorite kid time fun with M-80s was to put a coffee can over it and see how high you could launch it. Luckily I never had one turn into shrapnel…

 

I do rental property for a living and the thing I’m known for is not putting up with much nonsense and expecting my tenants to be good neighbors. Even the sheriffs department knows I don’t put up with any nonsense I’m on a first name basis with the sheriff. But I was a awful teenager my father should have killed me. And looking back all I could have said is I had it coming if he had
