    Good morning all. :hattip:

Dammit, sad news about @Matic passing away.

@WestGeorgiaTaco Glad that the eye surgery went well

Good morning everybody. Have a great weekend!

I’ve had the Solomon Forces version of the Quest. They were nice boots, the fit can be tight in the toe box.

I have to agree with the other Merrell fans, I seem to keep coming back to the Moab. I have both the waterproof and non WP versions. WP in the winter and non for the summer adventures.

Both the Solomons and Merrells need insoles for me.

The new to FL people are always fun when their first storm heads toward you. We have a new cluster of homes that we’re built a couple of years ago, most of the people that bought them were transplants. Last year when the first tropical storm was headed toward the north Gulf coast about 5 of them were out there putting on the hurricane shutters as soon as we were in the cone of confusion. They did it every time a cone covered us. Rookies. Lol

    Good Morning Folks :hattip:

Got to sleep an extra 1/2 hour today :woot:
    Enjoying my special weekend coffee.

All the TW people I've met have been great people. My wife had concerns about meeting people that I meet online.
I just have to remind her how we met.

That really summarizes how I feel about 'interwebz' buddies and people in general, however I can honestly say that the few local MD folks from the regional thread that I have met have been absolutely great people. One guy in particular is just above and beyond a great guy, he regularly opens up a "private" camp site on his VW cabin property to TW members to just set up camp and enjoy the views of the mountain and hang out with him, his wife and their friends.

Thanks for all of the feedback on hiking boots, I appreciate it. The Solomons got a 3 mile test drive yesterday, they had good lateral support, the tread wasn't as grippy at the Sportiva's and the toe box definately felt a bit cramped. My biggest gripe was that the tongues were constantly moving around and the laces were constantly getting loose. I know that once a break in period happens that this should not be an issue but it bugged me compared to the Sportivas that didn't need a single adjustment during the hike. I think that the construction of the Solomons is a bit more HD then the Sportivas. One thing for sure, the Solomons didn't breath as well as the Sportivas. It wasn't as hot yesterday during the hike compared to the day that I tried the Sportivas and my feets were really hot and sweaty when I finished the hike in the Solomons.

I'm intrigued by the recommendations of the Merrell Moabs, the REI employee was talking them up but they just struck me as a light weight trail runner, not a "real" hiking boot. I think that I need to look at those as well since you guys are giving me real world feed back on them.

no one did, not even the folks local to him. we just had a member reach and say "hey, he hasn't signed on in a bit and was having some health issues. anybody know what's going on?"

My services as tour guide are always available!

I gave up explaining TW to folks because it usually ended up with them looking at me like I was crazy when i tried to explain that I meet up with a bunch of strangers I "met" online and we all go way out in the mountains to camp and drive and just have fun. :notsure: Don't know why? I've met up with maybe 60 or 70 of you all over the years. Not an axe murderer in the group....yet!
thanks for having my back Mikey :fistbump:

    well preserved?
