Forgot I took these on my way home Sunday.
Semi was at about the red x when dipshit started to turn left. I veered off the shoulder to the right and the semi went between us. Dipshits trailer was fully blocking the left lane. Notice the skid marks, those are from the semi.

Does that price not include the batteries and power management equipment?

I'm not sure if it's required in Tennessee or not, I've not actually seen a lot of solar in my area.

I find the idea of solar to be appealing. I like the off-grid living aspect. But as I get my heat from propane, my electric bill has been under 1K annually. Unless the going rate for selling is reasonable, I think it would be hard to recoup the 30K+ expenditure on buying the solar.

EDIT: I also have a 9.5KW gas/propane generator for those rare occurrences of prolonged power outages. But it would be nice to not have to be worried about keeping it full of fuel.

No batteries. But it includes everything to run. My bills can get to $400 and more in 2 months so I will save a little with solar. I wasn't going to bother as the winter months are cheaper and all we really need is a better refrigerator. But I was outvoted by my wife.

We have a total stand alone off grid system at one of our campgrounds for the camp host site. It's an older system that has had some upgrades. It does fine as long as all the terminals are clean and tight. I forget what batteries are on it but they are sealed heavy equipment batteries and (iirc) there's 8 batteries to a bank and there's 6 or 8 banks. It's easy to see when there's a bad battery but we have to isolate and test each battery to find it. We do have a diesel generator as backup or to recharge batteries on cloudy days. One thing with stand alone systems, you can't run a lot of stuff and appliances like microwaves are to be used sparingly or not at all. We also make them run their fridges on propane. Camper fridges pull a lot of power. And they can't do a lot of functions simultaneously. Can't run a washer, coffee maker and hair dryer all at the same time like you can on grid. But having experience with this system, if it were up to me, I'd rip it out and upgrade the entire system. It is older and was designed for smaller rv's and the panels are only 75w. 75's are fine but you can put 140's in the same place and produce a whole lot more.

It was my wife's idea. She does the bills so I just signed on the X.

Just checking my pictures, I just have old ones from before the last upgrades. Next time I go out there I'll shoot some more.

    Oh man
The shit I have seen and seen done I could write a best seller.
I’m still thinking of writing it (not that it will ever happen).
