    Thank you, Susan. We will miss our congregation that is for sure. We have shared a lot of life over the years.

    The individual who back fed his home did not shut off his mains which allowed the electricity to flow through the system in reverse. Unfortunately in this case the linesmen didn’t follow the simple but critical rule to treat every line as live. However, If they had not discovered that the line was hot and the power had been restored and the generator was still running, it could have resulted in damage to the breakers and possibly resulted in a fire anywhere along the line where generators were still running and being used to power homes. This is why it’s illegal in most states and in some areas you are held liable for injury or damages that result.
