Snap, Crackle, and Pop! I made it outta bed one more day!!

Good Morning! I haven't been on in a while- my sump pump failed and my finished basement flooded. About a foot of water down there destroyed everything so we've been ripping up flooring and cleaning up.

 

Service manager keeps trying to get me to come back.
I told him he couldn’t afford me.
Also told him my life long integrity and honesty would be ruined if I came back.
I’d be guilty by association with this place
cause all you do is rape anyone that comes here now.


I called some customers that I was the only one to work on their vehicle and told them
to go someplace else.

Friends of mine had the exact same thing happen.
It was rough.
He installed a second pump with separate electrical setup as a backup.
It saved his downstairs at least once..
I hope you get things sorted out.

A comfortable 33 degrees here in Prentice WI. It's actually warmer to the north where I'm going. So you know the weather is changing when it's warmer near a Great Lake than inland.
Had a real nice visit with Mary's parents last night.
Coffee and breakfast time now than hit the road.

Good morning everyone! Had to get out and socialize yesterday and last night at least last night had beer and steamed oysters. Turns out there’s more to it than driving the van and getting some fishing in.

 

sorry to hear that. mine at the old house did but before i finished it. bought 2 to have one for backup.

Finding a trusted Mechanic and or shop is worth it's weight in gold. Finding one can be very challenging.

Funny story now…

I had that happen to my unfinished basement a couple of months after I bought my first home. Thankfully I discovered it in time and only lost a water heater, but the water level was with in a inch of also swamping the furnace. I only discovered the issue because I was giving a friend a tour of the new house. In the lowest part of the floor the water was about 2 feet deep. I had to ask the fire department for help. In my ignorance, I tried using my 5 gallon shop vac to pump out the water, after several hours of work I couldn’t notice a difference in the water level. So drove over to the FD and asked if they would loan me a pump. They said no, they could not loan one, but instead got in their truck and followed me home and pumped out the water for me. It took a couple of hours for their big pump to get out most of the water, they had estimated there was about 5000 gallons of water in there. The previous owner hadn’t disclosed the issue and there wasn’t a pump installed, and I’m certain that wasn’t the first time it had flooded. I remedied the issue with a new pump installation. But it was close to being a complete disaster in December.

I had the issue one more time a few years later when the pump got clogged up. That cost me a new pump and second water heater and was my fault for not doing very good job installing the pump the first time. I remedied that by digging up several feet of the floor around the drain and improving the whole drainage system to work better with a sump pump.

Home ownership is fun.
