I understand. Depends on how your kitchen is laid out. I like coils because if they go bad, just replace it with a new one in 10 seconds.
If I got rid of my stove it would be a big "gap" there, lol. Get her of one these:[IMG]

I cooked on one for years :)

that’s a reasonable fear. I always try to be careful when placing pots on the glass and usually slide them around whenever possible.

That is the 1st trick, to do a "reset" of sorts. years ago out of frustration it lead to "aggressive tapping" of the regulator against the propane tank, it worked. I always turn the tank valve off 1st and let the gas burn out, then when it's time to put the cover back on I will disconnect the regulator from the bottle. I don't know, it does seem odd at the high failure rate but this is the only grill that I've ever had an issue with, so maybe it's something that I'm doing wrong or maybe it's something else. :notsure:

Do you disconnect the regulator after every use? I turn the gas off, but I don’t take the regulator off the tank unless there is a reason to.

Yes, I remove the regulator from the tank every time. I have one of those in-line gas gauges, I thought that maybe it was boogered up so I disconnected it and screwed the reg right onto the tank valve. No difference, tiny blue flames.

You might be letting moisture into the regulator by taking it off. I’d leave it connected, so as to keep the system sealed from outside air and moisture as much as possible.

It's raining in South Florida, supposed to get down to 43°F tonight.
I should have installed a heat pump to keep energy costs down.
Stay warm all & have a great day :)
