    Man, I love birch beer. When I was 10 or so, I went to a family reunion where an uncle had made about 8 gallons of the stuff. All the kids were allowed as much as they wanted. I was in heaven.

    When it came time to leave, he dumped out the last 1/2 gallon on the ground. I was heartbroken!

    My grandmutti made homemade root beer that was the best. I remember when I was a kid my Dad loaded up a case in the trunk of our car. We were coming back from our family reunion in August and somewhere between York Pa and our house in Southern Md that stuff started exploding like grenades. Awesome childhood memory...
