Yeah, you have to be very careful on the interweb nowadays. Never ever give anyone your info & don't open any attachments.

Wish you luck in getting it straightened out :)

Good morning everybody, have a great weekend!

Went to our university yesterday with a buddy, we’re history nerds. The university has a small display of local history stuff the college archeology and anthropology department has recovered from around here. Some of the items go back to 1559 when the first Spanish settled here! We were doing our thing, talking between ourselves and a nice older lady comes out, introduces herself as the director. Makes small take, kind of feels us out, starts giving us a curated tour of the displays. It’s obvious she knows her stuff and is proud of what they have. We run out of time before we get through everything, she says come back anytime, ask for her and she will continue the tour.

We get home and learn she is the director of the entire archeology/anthropology department and is a pretty big deal at the university. She’s been involved with or lead the excavations for the past 25 years. Me and my buddy are in history nerd awe that she was our tour guide.

I hope you get this resolved easily. Hopefully the bank will reverse some of the overdraft fees for you. Ask if they can put an alert on her account that will flag any out of ordinary checks or charges. It’s a service some of them do for these type of circumstances.

    Morning all

When our Mom paid one bill 3 times and didn't pay another one at all, we got POA.

Finally got the contents of our parents safe deposit box. Not anything of value. But it did have my grandfather's 1917 honorable discharge papers from the French Foreign Legion.

And the window sticker for my Dad 1969 Ford Torino Station wagon

Got the bank straightened out. I’m her POA. Luckily I thought ahead and gave her a checking account with a limited amount that she uses. Only so much trouble she can get into that way. The rest of her money I moved to another bank that I manage and pay all of her bills with. The bank closed the checking account that was used and opened another for her and told her “Don’t write checks to anyone you don’t know”

She is a strong headed person…

oh, she dropped her purse in the garage when we were going to the bank (she can’t get in the truck so I take her car). We get to the bank and she says I lost my purse! o_O Que chest pains, I swear…

She really needs an aide or assisted living but is resistant. It’s going to come to a head soon. I’m stuck doing this mainly on my own. My two sisters aren’t helping much at all and don’t want to.

debating if I NEED to go and pick up some cinnamon rolls from a local bakery

catching up on local news - there was a bad accident yesterday morning, semi truck lost control on black ice and went off the interstate and landed on the train tracks below. two dead. took most of the day to clear the wreck and inspect the tracks so all trains were halted. we normally see at least one train every 45 minutes or so. shut things down for several hours and that equals trains coming through at 15 minute intervals all damn night in order to clear the backed up traffic.

I had a cat in the 80's that virtually lived on top of a brick wall heater similar to that one.

My folks made small mistakes on their taxes for the last 3 years. A different mistake each time, but it took me several hours to make sense of the IRS letters and audit their filings to figure it all out. All simple errors, a 3 and 8 look similar, but they can mean a $500 difference on line 37. They have agreed to not file any more tax forms until I've had the opportunity to audit them first. We don't want to offend our friendly tax agent or get any more letters from him.

YES! I feel I need this in my life.
I do think it needs one more space at the top that says "Zero" and at the bottom "s given".

You should drop her an email and say thanks for the tour. That's someone I'd like to know and chat with from time to time. I love history. It was my favorite subject and the one I usually did the best in without having to try hard. I CLEP tested out of both history class requirements in college without studying for the exam.

I'm glad you're stepping up to the plate!:hattip:

Did the ‘Home Instead’ thing with mom for several years before she passed. They were very good and made sure she ate well, and moved around occasionally, and we’re even able to transport to doctors appointments on occasion. Don’t know if they’re in your area, but they were good up here.
