From what I understand, all or most dogs get car sick. That's why thier heads are out the windows. More airflow?

Motion sickness in dogs is a common problem. Motion or car sickness is more common in younger dogs than adults. The reason may be due to the fact that the parts of the inner ear involved in balance are not fully developed. Puppies will often “outgrow” motion sickness by the time they are about 1 year old.

Great looking doggo! Jacks are moderately notorious for not being good riders (in autos). Oddly, both of ours absolutely love going for a ride, most especially if it's in the truck. We're fortunate that neither have gotten sick on rides. Sorry to hear yours isn't enjoying the experience. :(

She is the first dog I've ever had that has gotten car sick and I've had many over the years :notsure: Vet said she's between 1 & 2, so should have outgrown that. From the rescue she should be 13 1/2 months old.

Thanks. All my other doggos loved rides, even 3 day treks. This one can't even handle a 2 hour trip. She will only voluntarily get in the car/truck if there is food/treats involved.

I found leaving the window open helps.

I had a Golden Retriever named Yogie.

    I'd say pet supermarket?

He'd immediately put his paw on my arm, let's go dad :)

Soon as I opened my truck door, he'd run right past me.

I'd even strap him in for safety. Great dog.

    I miss him very much.

My parents used to have a Shelty that got car sick. They'd always take up his food the day before any trips and put him in a kennel for the drive. He eventually got a little better and they could leave the kennel at home, but he was never a great fan of road trips.

You might try something like this. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07DM8XQ9C

Good morning all. Bachelor life again. I suspect the dog is going to throw a Puppy Bowl party this weekend… I have an interview this afternoon - company that makes pew-pews.

The dog doesn’t like car rides. She doesn’t get fully car sick but will drool a LOT and shake. We’ve tried Dramamine, Ativan, CBD. None help that much. Nothing like a nervous, somewhat sick, stoned dog in the back of the car…

I was going through the same crap she is for the last 5 years I worked.
So it’s a fun poke and she knows I stand with her. Work sucks nowadays and people suck.
Hell I started the weekly moron report…

Good morning everyone! Some dogs are nervous wrecks over a ride for those a short ride and something good happens a hike an ice cream cone and back to the house. But keep it short never right after eating either I had a foster feed canned food to pups and hand them off to me for a 900 mile ride. Not only did it come back up they continued to throw up the whole trip. I was starting to get worried we got there and they were fine but it was the worst possible ride experience for them it would be interesting to know if they can stand a ride now. But for the riders that associate a ride with something good is about to happen it becomes hard to get out of the fence without them.

    Good Morning :hattip:

Snow clean up last night when I got home from work. Wet and heavy.

Never had a problem with them getting sick. Only problem is that the little dog Rose Bud just can't settle down and stop whinning.

I've seen this stuff in Menards. Will give it a try.
