29 degrees on the gulf coast this morning, first day of spring my butt! This is going to cool the pool water off big time

 

warmed up to a steamy 31* here in CVA. Mornin all..... still dry as a chip... like 24 rH

How you know when you’ve been eating at the Mexican restaurant too often! I get in the truck feel a vibration.

I'd love to have a ford 9" rear axle under my truck! But that would be an investment. I do have spares for several consumable parts, like the hubs, tierods, and CVs, but a 3rd is a bit too expensive for me to just keep lying around in case it breaks. My current 3rd member lasted for five years without any issues. But now it has broken twice in a month's time. The pinion nut broke middle of February, and the ring gear on Saturday. My wheelin' buddies have given me crap for years because, until this weekend, I had never broken down on the trail. I have replaced plenty of parts, but I've previously been able to get home before needing to do so. While I drive like a grandpa on the street, my wheelin' style is known to be a bit on the pedal to the metal, zero-fucks-given side of the spectrum. I'll try to do just about anything at least once. The phrase "Hold my beer, and watch this..." usually makes me laugh because, though I don't drink and drive, that's much of my attitude. Though, I suppose I'd actually say, "Hold my sweet tea, and watch this..." Here's me a few years ago, in an untested mud hole with my 33s when I really needed something more.

And I didn't hear that noise this time, but my diff looked much like his did when we pulled it last year.
