diesel and below zero temps for the lose!

i'm pooped. batteries and propane are hooked up. stove heater and fridge all fired up. reorganized my junk cabinets and removed stuff i dont use. mopped the floor and waxed the cabinets. vacuumed all 2sqft of carpet. restocked TP. took Chebby to the car wash and got him cleaned up. took the tailgate off and put the tie downs on. pulled the floor mats out of both trucks and cleaned the winter gunk off. checked the air filters, oil and coolant in both.
still lots more to do but i'm calling it a day.

I'm surprised to see that many miles in the clock already. Congrats on 20+ mpg, I can't even get that out of my 4 banger Taco.

Lots of options and buttons. But what I like most is 475hp and 1050ftlbs of torque nothing makes it breath hard.

Trucks are ridiculous anymore with all the gadgets and do-dads. But if I had a reason to own one I would 't even blink. I'd have one. I have 2 diesel pick ups assigned to me at work and we couldn't get it done very well without them. I still have my 1st truck (F-450 that my seasonal helper drives) and my 2nd truck (Ram 4500). They were both supposed to be replaced 3 years ago but that whole "chip shortage" screwed that up. Maybe October we might get new trucks, we'll see. But they do get the work done.

We have to do a lot of towing so it’s something we can’t do without. But for beating around it’s the 4Runner. When we pull the camper somewhere like this past week I missed the 4Runner for beating around on the forest service roads. It’s way more at home there than the truck.

I fully agree...I said the trucks do the work, what I didn't say is how they beat the crap out of us. We both also own inversion tables just for that reason.

I have yet to see a somewhat affordable solution to having a comfortable trailer, a truck to pull it with and the "get around vehicle" to drive around while camping. I have seen some ridiculous rigs though. Rv's on semi truck frames, huge stacker trailers for all the toys and then some...not really something you can actually park in an average neighborhood. Toy haulers work but most of those aren't very comfortable and still limited for what they can haul unless you're talking 3 axles and 8'6" wide.

Well here is the “I’m getting too old to put away a wet tent” (but really want a travel trailer) compromise.

She wanted a very nice RPod but I didn’t want to tow that kind of weight. We are not “Glampers” I still like to cook and hang out outside. We already have a two room shower/toilet shelter with instant hot water and that works for us. But this will provide a nice space to retreat to when the weather gets rough.
