Chrome I will do bore cylinders on shotguns, at least hope they are so.. But bet your right.

Juárez - El Paso Industrial complex, sigh...

Retired from the Navy in Jan 96 and did Business Process Improvement in many vertical markets.

Manufacturing was MUCH cheaper in Juárez not as cheap as the Pacific Rim but cheap. And El Paso was the US center for many manufactures for Electronic manufactures back then.

Even a fractional T1 was thousands of dollars a month Stateside at the time. TelMex charged 10X that price. China was even worse and you had to pay at least 3 times in a row to get your servers back. Same servers. And grease the skids with a fortune in payoff fees just to get on the "compound"

I had the great idea to shoot IR across the Rio Grande to bypass the TelMex charges. Should have worked in theory and in part it did. Up to a point...

Turns out in the winter it gets cold enough that even the Rio Grande produces fog. And interfers with IR transmissions. Went from hero to Joe Shit the ragman overnight LOL.

Still it was better than what TelMex charged. Or what Sat links cost back then or in the Gulf.

Maybe I'll take a cruise by the border crossings tomorrow. I have a feeling they're (mostly) just lined up by the unfinished parts of the fence waiting on the buses to take them in for.processing. I'm sure there are runners as well as smugglers grabbing some up to. We have 2 crossings in our area (sector). Not sure I'd cross at Juarez at any time. That's a bad neighborhood. San Luis isn't great but not that bad. Los Algadones isn't bad at all but that's where everyone goes for their meds, dental work, glasses and a dozen tacos. But I doubt there's any chrome shops without going further in.

Haven't kept up on here like I used to. Took me awhile to understand what happened and apologize for not responding earlier. But i'm not going to say anything until I understand what is going on either.

Now that I have well YAH!!

Typed a lot and deleted it and typed it again and deleted it again.

Long story short when the Ex left I ended up dating a neonatal intensive care unit nurse. Every night that we were together I ended up holding her while she sobbed and I held her. Some babies make it but many do not and it hits those that care for them, and hard. In fact that was most of our time together, I held her. You can talk empathy cushion all you want but in real life... After a couple of years she ended up going back to her Ex who was abusive to her and I still think that she somehow felt that was right for her, because the outcome was her fault no matter what she did. Finally figured it was not my problem. And helped me realize I can't fix broken. Well software and processes I can but not people. '

I am VERY thankful for your outcome and your family after catching up.Just want to let you know how much it affects those that you may not, but likely do know. And every success story is not a story. But a bundle of life and joy that goes home to love and a future.

Bless you, Olivia and her family.

I was going to cut the grass today but the rain that was supposed to stay south of us has visited us and it looks like it's here to stay until late afternoon.

    Good Morning Folks :hattip:

    Cloudy and spotty shower.
I'm going into work later for 6 hours. They want me work with the 1st shift apprentice. His trainer is not doing a good job of training.
I made the last of my Arbuckles coffee. Time to order. I didn't realize I was so low.

    Morning all

I had to take out the ash tree in front because of the roots. Kept breaking the water line. And the gas line is there too. Didn't want to go through that issue.
When they cut down the ash in front they saw the one in back, the termites had gotten into it and it was dying so out it came. 2, 50 year old, 70 ft ash trees, gone.
