    I agree, many IT people think they are gods, when in reality, idiots. I've met a fair number of the clueless IT types in my years of this crap. Met some of the sharpest people I know, too. Too many are highly intelligent - when focused on their one little piece of the puzzle. But they can't think beyond their own arm's reach. Like these Facilities people. I have interacted with this same guy several times over the last year, when one of the sites he is responsible for would lose power due to severe weather or utility company issues. I'd have him on a bridge call working with our support teams to let us know when power was restored, and to help in case any internal PDUs or UPSs might have problems. So he clearly understands the concept "power outage = servers/networks go down, need lots of hand holding to bring back up properly = no fun for anyone". Yet in this instance, where his team was responsible for the site wide power outage...... it apparently never occurred to him that those same IT teams were gonna have to pick up the pieces from this power outage, and so maybe he should have told us about it before they pulled the plug.

    Think, people. Think!! :facepalm::annoyed:

    Good afternoon everybody! Going to the northeast again this weekend not sure how many yet. I might remove some crates if it’s a small load 6/7 dogs and throw in the memory foam and make it a camping trip. So far it’s a stop in Philly and on to NH I’m sure there’s a stream somewhere along the way back. I’m going to Charlotte to run 9 to Charlotte humane tomorrow I might stop by the fly shop for supplies. I have some dries that won’t fit in my box because the streamers don’t have their own totally unacceptable. I need more boxes. Nooo I don’t have a problem!

    I seem to have made it thru the first day back to work after 2 weeks and a long weekend. Got here 1/2 early; only went for a short walk at lunch, no food; throwing in the towel now. No major outages while I was gone for two weeks, but a vendor did plug his boring drill into the PD server rack (multiple times) since there was a convenient plug in the PDU. Alarms were going off all over that the UPS couldn't support the load.

    Turns out he was boring thru a solid wall to pull ethernet to the opposite side of said wall, but the rack where all this ethernet will terminate is on the side he dropped thru the ceiling. I really wish I had been consulted before this camera project was awarded. . . and kinda wished they had actually powered-down the entire PD server rack. These guys don't understand that PD has guns in their pockets.

    :rant: think my lawn mower seized up.... turned it off, to get a drink, and when I went to pull the starter cord I about lost my arm, when the cord didn't move :annoyed: so only part of the yard cut again..... wonder how much a new one will cost me.... off to search Lowes and Ace web sites......

    :wave: evening all. Hope it was a productive day for all

    May be score a beater mower off of Market Place? Best of luck to you!

    Hello everyone. Just checking in, to say 'good night'. Long day at the job, then a long evening fighting with the GMC. I tore into the steering column to replace the ignition switch. As soon as I got the steering wheel off and could see the guts, it was clear that 'someone has been in here before'. What a F-N mess, I will just leave it at that. I will be better off finding a used tilt column then trying to un-fuck this one.
