several of you already beat me to it....

the store bought stuff is supposed to be kiln cured to be bug/pest free & native to the area.

sidenote: i give away firewood every year here at my mini farm. we have hundreds of dead ashe trees & i just ask people to come help load it & they can have all they want. we leave it standing so it doesnt rot. once it hits the ground or breaks off? if they dont come get it pretty quick it starts rotting fast. again though=== that cant leave the immediate area cause of the ashe bore beetles that are killing them all.

This was as far as I could make it. I put in roscoe ny but it would have been a stretch. I know I couldn’t do anymore dark driving I pulled out at 630 yesterday and figured I better stop but this should make a couple options open for tomorrow.

Just don’t eat them! There’s also Atlantic salmon. The river was very, very, okay one more, very polluted. Naugatuck was the home of US Rubber (Uniroyal). They left in the 70’s. Back in the 50’s and 60’s, the thing to do was to see what color the river was that day. The Uniroyal chemical made all sorts of stuff like agent orange, among other things. Actually, Charles Goodyear grew up in my town - right on what is now Goodyear Avenue. Naugahyde was also invented here. The scene in the War of the Worlds with Tom Cruise where the building is blown up is the old chemical plant. They imploded it for the movie.

The river has made a huge change and there’s a lot of fishermen that work the river.

Goodness gracious it’s a wonder trout can live in it. They must really worked themselves to a frazzle to clean all that up.

Well our son has landed and immediately went into a 6 day work rotation after a 24 hour flight on the rotator. Grand puppies are settling in. Though Luna needs some extra love.
