    Good morning everybody.

    Had a bit of a tragedy yesterday. I’ve been watching a pair of bluebirds hatch their eggs in a birdhouse on my back porch. Yesterday, mom and dad were flittering around the birdhouse, raising all sorts of hell, other species of birds were joining them too. When I went out to investigate I found a rat snake tail hanging out of the entry hole. I snatched him out and he’s no longer with us but he did get a couple of the hatchlings :( I’m sitting on the porch with my 2nd cup of coffee on snake watch today in case another one shows up.

    I've also been keeping a watch on my bluebird house. I also placed a 5 inch cage around the hole because last year I saw crows and raccoons reaching in! Anyway...good luck!
